Prison-of-Human-Will Doctrine
The doctrine, VIP-designated, that formally maps Jesus’ physical Passion-prison onto the spiritual state of the soul enslaved to its own human will: stench = wretched passions; thick darkness = extinguished reason; restlessness and derangement = disordered will — the soul unable to be released by others unlike Jesus, yet able to release itself voluntarily: each act of the human will constitutes one step of distance from God, and liberation consists in the soul’s voluntary surrender of its will to the DW.
