Unitive-Virtue-of-the-DW Doctrine
The doctrine that the DW possesses a specific Unitive Strength or Virtue that centralizes the creature’s complete interior being — “the thought, the desire, the affection, the love, the human will” — into one single ordered Act, its first dowry being dominion of oneself and interior order, its effect making the creature “adaptable material in Its hands”; without the DW the creature entirely lacks this Unitive Strength, seeing herself “all scattered and without Order” and becoming “hard material that does not yield itself” — the DW’s Unitive Virtue being the necessary governing principle of creaturely self-possession and the precondition for the creature to serve as the material through which God continues His creative Works.
