Universal-and-Special-Love Doctrine
The doctrine that God’s Love operates in two formally distinct modes: (1) Universal Love — given to all creatures without ceasing, never withdrawn; and (2) Special Love — added when God intends “special Labors, New Works, Designs more distinct,” serving simultaneously as the creature’s fascination (inducing the surrender that yields the field of action) and as the material-ground in which the particular Labor is formed and extended — the Special Love supplementing but not replacing the Universal Love, and enabling God to pursue particular designs through particular souls without limiting His universal love for all; distinct from ILY-1 (which tracks the exchange-circuit of the act of love) and PDW-1 (which tracks the purpose-structure of divine works).
