24-1928-06-07 Biblical Resonance Analysis

Volume 24 — June 7, 1928 “How God, in creating man, infused three Suns in him. Ardor of His Love. Example of the Sun.”

STAGE ONE — Independent Biblical Identification

Movement 1: The Three Suns — Trinitarian Powers Infused in the Soul

“With Our breath, the soul was infused in him, and in the soul Our paternal goodness infused three Suns, by which We formed in it the perennial and refulgent day – not subject to any night. These three Suns were formed by the Power of the Father, by the Wisdom of the Son, by the Love of the Holy Spirit… These three Suns are the three powers: intellect, memory and will… symbol of Our adorable Trinity, since while being three distinct Persons, We form one single Power, one single Intellect, and one single Will. Our Love in creating man was so great, that It felt content only when We communicated Our Likeness to him.”

Genesis 1:26–27 — “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness’… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him.” The explicit scriptural ground: God’s love “felt content only when We communicated Our Likeness to him.” The three Suns are the specific architecture of the imago Dei — the three powers of the soul as the creaturely participation in Trinitarian Power, Wisdom, and Love. Direct doctrinal parallel

Genesis 2:7 (CPDV) — “And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and he breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul” The breath that infuses the soul — and with it the three Suns — is the specific Genesis act from which the entry proceeds, now given its Trinitarian interior content. Direct doctrinal parallel

Colossians 3:10 — “and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,” The image renewed in knowledge — the three Suns as the original constitution of the imago, and their renewal the goal of the DW Kingdom. Direct doctrinal parallel

2 Peter 1:4 — “by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.” The three Suns constitute the original participation in the divine nature — Power, Wisdom, Love given in creaturely form — and the DW Kingdom’s arrival restores this participation to its full operative reality. Direct doctrinal parallel

Wisdom 7:22–26 — “For wisdom is more mobile than any motion. Yes, she pervades and penetrates all things … For she is a reflection of everlasting light, an unspotted mirror of the working of God, and an image of his goodness.” Wisdom as radiant light — a reflection of eternal light penetrating all things — anticipates the second Sun (Wisdom of the Son) as the principle of the soul’s intellect. Typological

Romans 8:15–16 — “For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;” The Spirit’s love communicated to the human will (the third Sun: Love of the Holy Spirit) — the will’s deepest movement, when un-clouded, is the Spirit’s filial cry toward the Father. Direct doctrinal parallel

Movement 2: Symbol of the Trinity — Three Distinct Powers, One Single Power

“While being distinct among them, they hold hands and arrive at forming one single power, symbol of Our adorable Trinity, since while being three distinct Persons, We form one single Power, one single Intellect, and one single Will.”

John 10:30 — “I and the Father are one.” The unity of divine Persons as the archetype of which the three-in-one soul structure is the creaturely symbol. Christological/Trinitarian

Deuteronomy 6:4 — “Hear, Israel: The LORD is our God. The LORD is one.” The absolute unity of God — the Shema declares the oneness within which the Trinitarian plurality subsists, and the soul’s three Suns forming one single power mirrors this structure. Direct doctrinal parallel

Ephesians 4:4–6 — “There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.” The Pauline unity-in-plurality principle governing both the Church and, by extension, the imago structure: the diversity of gifts, powers, and persons resolved into one. Direct doctrinal parallel

1 Corinthians 12:4–6 — “Now there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord. There are various kinds of workings, but the same God who works all things in all.” The Trinitarian attribution pattern — Spirit/gifts, Lord/service, God-Father/activities — mirrors the entry’s attribution of the three Suns to the three Persons. Direct doctrinal parallel

Movement 3: The Sun Analogy — Tacit Speech, Universal Direction, Life of Everything

“These three Suns were placed in the depth of the human soul, just like the Sun in the depth of the vault of the heavens, which keeps the earth in feast with its light, and gives life to all plants with its admirable effects, giving to each one the flavor, the sweetness, the color and the substance that befits it. In its tacit silence, the Sun guides the earth, instructs everyone – not with words, but with facts, and with such eloquence that no one else can reach it; and with its penetrating light it becomes life of everything that the earth produces.”

Psalm 19:4–6 — “Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. His going out is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends. There is nothing hidden from its heat.” The sun completing its circuit, reaching everything without exception, instructing all through its heat and light — the entry’s image of the sun guiding “not with words, but with facts.” Affective/meditative

Malachi 4:2 — “But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out and leap like calves of the stall.” The Sun of Righteousness — the eschatological three-Suns in their full operative form, rising with healing as the DW Kingdom arrives. Typological

John 1:4–5 — “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.” The Christological Light as life — the second Sun (Wisdom of the Son) corresponding to the life-giving light that is simultaneously the life of men. Christological/Trinitarian

James 1:17 — “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow.” The Father of lights giving without variation — the three Suns maintaining their constant communication with the Three Divine Persons, their light never diminishing from the source. Direct doctrinal parallel

Wisdom 7:29–30 — “For she is fairer than the sun, and above all the constellations of the stars. She is better than light. For daylight yields to night, but evil does not prevail against wisdom.” Wisdom surpassing even the physical sun — the three Suns as forming “the perennial and refulgent day — not subject to any night,” precisely because they are superior to the solar order they image. Affective/meditative

Movement 4: Thick Clouds — The Human Will Obstructing the Three Suns

“These three Suns exist in man, but they find themselves in the same condition of the Sun that shines in the heavens when it is surrounded by thick clouds… the earth receives its effects with difficulty, and does not enjoy all the good which the Sun could do to it… the human will has formed thick clouds, and therefore one sees man without the glory, the order and the harmony of his creation… in coming to reign, the first thing that my Will will knock down will be the human volition. Blowing, It will dispel the clouds, and man will let himself be directed by the three Suns he has in the depth of his soul… and immediately He will rise to Our origin, and everything will be feast and glory for Us and for him.”

Isaiah 44:22 — “I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” God blotting out the cloud — the DW’s arrival corresponds: the “blowing” that disperses the human will’s clouds is the eschatological fulfillment of this prophetic promise. Typological

Ezekiel 36:26–27 — “I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes. You will keep my ordinances and do them.” The removal of the obstacle (heart of stone / clouds) so that the Spirit can operate freely — the DW’s knocking-down of the human volition corresponds to this divine initiative of clearing. Direct doctrinal parallel

John 3:8 — “The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” The sovereign wind of the Spirit — “Blowing, It will dispel the clouds” places the DW’s action within this Johannine image of the Spirit’s uncontrollable, sovereign movement. Direct doctrinal parallel

Acts 2:2 — “Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” The Pentecostal wind as the type of the DW’s blowing — the Spirit’s arrival at Pentecost dispersing the darkness and inaugurating the new era corresponds to the DW’s arrival dispersing the clouds of the human will. Typological

Joel 2:28 — “It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions.” The Spirit poured out — the DW’s eschatological blowing corresponds to this prophetic outpouring. Direct doctrinal parallel

Hebrews 4:12 — “For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” The living and active Word penetrating through the soul’s clouds, dividing what should be divided, reaching the depths — the DW’s blowing as the active Word’s piercing action. Direct doctrinal parallel

STAGE TWO — Comparison with Hogan’s Commentary

CORRESPONDENCES

Genesis 2:7 (soul infused through divine breath / three Suns given with the soul): Both identify the Genesis 2:7 breath-of-life as the governing creation account. Hogan explicitly cites “that’s Genesis chapter 2.”

Trinitarian attribution of the three powers: Both identify the correspondence between intellect/Power-Father, memory-wisdom/Son, will-love/Spirit, and both note the Trinitarian-image structure of the soul as the entry’s central doctrinal claim.

Sun analogy / thick clouds / seasonal melancholy: Both develop the sun/clouds analogy extensively. Hogan adds the contemporary application of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) as a natural illustration of what spiritual clouding does to the soul.

ADDITIONS — HERS

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) application: Hogan’s extended application of the sun/clouds analogy to the psychological reality of seasonal depression provides a concrete contemporary illustration: as the lack of sunlight causes bodily melancholy, the human will’s clouds cause spiritual melancholy — the soul’s condition of meaninglessness and depression when cut off from the three Suns. Not a scriptural citation but a significant contemporary application.

Augustine’s psychological Trinity analogy (implicit): Hogan’s identification of intellect/memory/will as the soul’s three powers corresponding to the Trinity implicitly draws on the Augustinian tradition (De Trinitate, Book IX–XV) without citing it. This is the theological background of the entry’s doctrinal content.

No VIP designation.

STAGE TWO SYNTHESIS

The entry delivers a sustained teaching on the imago Dei’s interior Trinitarian structure through the three-Suns image, applying it to both the creation account (Genesis 1–2) and the eschatological prospect of the DW Kingdom dispersing the human will’s clouds. Genesis 1:26–27 and 2:7 govern as foundational texts; 2 Peter 1:4 and Colossians 3:10 supply the Pauline participation-in-divine-nature framework; John 3:8, Acts 2:2, and Ezekiel 36:26–27 together govern the DW’s cloud-dispersing action. Hogan’s most distinctive contribution is the concrete phenomenological illustration of the soul’s clouded condition through the SAD analogy — grounding the entry’s metaphysical teaching in embodied human experience. The entry’s most theologically significant claim is structural: the three soul-powers are not merely analogous to the Trinity but were formed by and remain in communication with the three Persons, so that the DW’s restoration of the three Suns is simultaneously the restoration of the ascent-and-descent pathways between God and man.

Cross-Entry Synthesis

Volume 24 — June 7, 1928 “How God, in creating man, infused three Suns in him. Ardor of His Love. Example of the Sun.”

The Three Suns — Interior Architecture of the Imago Dei

The entry delivers the most formally Trinitarian account of the imago Dei structure in Volume 24. The three powers of the soul — intellect, memory, will — are identified not merely as functional faculties but as Trinitarian gifts: each formed by a specific Person’s attribute (Power/Father, Wisdom/Son, Love/Spirit) and each remaining in communication with that Person after creation. This is not the familiar Augustinian observation that the soul’s three powers provide an analogy for the Trinity — it is a stronger claim: the soul’s three powers were formed by the Trinity and sustain a real communication-pathway with the Persons who formed them.

Genesis 1:26–27 (“Let us make man in our image”) and Genesis 2:7 (the breath infusing the soul) are the governing texts. Both Stage One and Hogan identify Genesis 2:7 as the entry’s anchoring creation-narrative text. Stage One supplies the Pauline context: 2 Peter 1:4 (partakers of the divine nature) identifies the three Suns as original participation in the divine nature itself — not merely reflection or analogy but creaturely share in Power, Wisdom, and Love. Colossians 3:10 (renewed in knowledge after the image) identifies the DW Kingdom’s arrival as the renewal of exactly what the three Suns originally constituted. Wisdom 7:22–26 (Wisdom as reflection of eternal light) gives the second Sun its sapiential depth.

The entry’s most doctrinally concentrated phrase is: “these three Suns remained in communication with the Three Divine Persons, in such a way that man possessed the way through which to ascend to Us, and We possessed the way through which to descend in him.” The ascent-and-descent movement of the truths-as-stairs (June 3) is here given its permanent structural ground: the stairs exist because the three Suns in the soul are perpetually in communication-contact with the three Persons. The way of ascent is not a spiritual achievement but an ontological condition — built into the soul’s constitution at creation and never entirely severed.

The Trinitarian Symbol — Three in One

The entry’s explicit identification of the three-in-one soul structure as a “symbol of Our adorable Trinity” places the teaching squarely within the imago Dei tradition. John 10:30 (I and the Father are one), Deuteronomy 6:4 (the LORD is one), and 1 Corinthians 12:4–6 (varieties of gifts, same Spirit/Lord/God) together supply the Trinitarian unity within which the plurality subsists. The soul’s three Suns are not three separate things that happen to cooperate — they “hold hands and arrive at forming one single power,” as the three Persons form one single Power, Intellect, and Will.

This structural parallel has a pastoral consequence that Hogan draws out: the soul’s authentic unity of operation (when the three Suns are undimmed) corresponds to the divine simplicity. When the human will clouds the three Suns, it introduces a fragmentation into what was created to be unified — an interior disorder that mirrors, at the soul’s level, the disordering of the universe’s harmony. The restoration of the three Suns is simultaneously the restoration of the soul’s interior unity and the re-establishment of the communication-pathways with the Persons who formed them.

The Sun Analogy — Tacit Universal Guidance

The analogy of the physical sun to the three Suns in the soul supplies the entry’s teaching with its most phenomenologically accessible frame: as the sun gives life, flavor, color, and substance to each thing according to its nature — all through light and heat, without words — so the three Suns direct, animate, and give life to all human acts without imposing from outside but operating from the soul’s interior depth.

Psalm 19:4–6 (nothing hidden from the sun’s heat, sun running its circuit with joy) provides the image of the sun’s comprehensive reach — it omits nothing. James 1:17 (Father of lights, without variation or shadow) grounds the three Suns’ constancy in the divine source’s own invariance. John 1:4–5 (Light as the life of men, shining in darkness) gives the second Sun its Christological identity: the Wisdom of the Son is the Light that is simultaneously the life of men, now carried in the soul’s intellectual faculty. Wisdom 7:29–30 confirms that the three Suns form “the perennial and refulgent day — not subject to any night” precisely because Wisdom surpasses the physical light which is succeeded by night.

Hogan’s SAD application grounds the metaphysical teaching experientially: the soul’s clouded condition is not a moral abstraction but a felt poverty — the spiritual analogue of the depression that comes from prolonged sun-deprivation. This makes the DW Kingdom’s cloud-dispersal not merely a theological event but a healing of the soul’s chronic melancholy.

Thick Clouds / The Human Will / The DW Blowing

The entry’s movement from the three Suns to the clouds is its most diagnostically significant. The clouds do not extinguish the three Suns or break the communication pathways — “nothing is broken or interrupted” — but they prevent the Suns’ full light from reaching the human acts, leaving man “as though ill.” This is the entry’s most precise PHW-1 and IDR-1 formulation in Volume 24: the human will’s damage is not constitutional (the Suns remain, the communication persists) but obstructive (the clouds prevent the full benefits from reaching).

Isaiah 44:22 (God blotting out transgressions like a cloud), Ezekiel 36:26–27 (the Spirit replacing the heart of stone), and John 3:8 (the sovereign wind blowing where it will) together govern the DW’s dispersing action. Acts 2:2 (the mighty rushing wind at Pentecost) provides the historical type: the Spirit’s arrival at Pentecost dispersed the disciples’ confusion and fear — the DW’s arrival disperses the human will’s clouds. Joel 2:28 (Spirit poured out on all flesh) provides the universal-scope prophecy. The entry’s “Blowing, It will dispel the clouds” is the specific fulfillment-language for all these prophetic and pneumatological texts.

The TIS-1 tracking (Trinitarian Indwelling Structure) is most directly advanced by this entry: the three Suns’ “communication with the Three Divine Persons” is the structural ground of TIS-1, and the DW’s restoration of their full operation is TIS-1’s eschatological form. The SUW-1 arc (Supreme Unity of Wills) is also operative in the entry’s conclusion: when the clouds are dispersed and the three Suns operate freely, “man will rise to Our origin, and everything will be feast and glory for Us and for him” — the reciprocal-correspondence of SUW-1 restored.

Synthesis Conclusion

Dominant biblical imagination: The entry operates from three traditions in precise structural alignment — the creation-theology tradition (Genesis 1–2; Colossians 3:10; 2 Peter 1:4) supplying the imago Dei’s Trinitarian constitution; the Wisdom/Light tradition (John 1:4–5; James 1:17; Wisdom 7:22–30; Malachi 4:2) supplying the Sun analogy’s scriptural depth; and the Spirit-wind / eschatological-restoration tradition (Ezekiel 36:26–27; John 3:8; Joel 2:28; Acts 2:2) supplying the DW’s cloud-dispersing action.

Most load-bearing scriptural traditions:

  • Genesis 1:26–27 with 2 Peter 1:4 and Colossians 3:10: together these anchor the three-Suns as the specific architecture of the imago Dei — not a functional analogy for the Trinity but a genuine creaturely participation in the divine nature that constitutes the soul’s deepest identity and the DW Kingdom’s restorative goal.
  • John 1:4–5 with James 1:17 and Wisdom 7:29–30: the Light-as-life tradition confirming that the three Suns form a perennial day superior to the physical light, whose constant communication with the divine source is the ground of human life and directedness.
  • Ezekiel 36:26–27 with John 3:8 and Acts 2:2: the Spirit-wind tradition governing the DW’s cloud-dispersal — the eschatological action that restores the three Suns’ full operation corresponds precisely to the Spirit’s sovereign movement that replaces the heart of stone and inaugurates the new era.

Three findings of greatest theological significance:

  1. The three-Suns doctrine delivers the most architecturally precise account of the imago Dei in Volume 24: the three powers were formed by specific Persons’ specific attributes, remain in real communication with those Persons, and provide the permanent ascending-and-descending pathways between God and man. The communication was never broken — it was clouded. This is the most formally hopeful statement of the doctrine in the corpus: even fallen man retains the three Suns and their communication pathways.
  2. The cloud-image for the human will is the most formally non-catastrophic version of PHW-1 in the corpus: the human will does not destroy the three Suns or sever the communication with the divine Persons but obstructs the full effects from reaching the human acts. The DW Kingdom’s first act — “knocking down the human volition” — is therefore not a destruction but a clearing, and what it clears was never absent, only blocked.
  3. The entry’s conclusion — “immediately He will rise to Our origin, and everything will be feast and glory for Us and for him” — is the SUW-1 doctrine in its most cosmically condensed form: when the three Suns are restored to full operation, the entire structure of creation-for-communion is instantaneously realized, because that structure was never broken — only clouded.

24-1928-06-07

RPT-1 — one-hundred-and-twenty-third confirmed / round-to-Eden-continued / flight-in-the-acts-of-DW: “My flight, in going around in the acts of the Divine Will, continues always.” 123rd diary-text RPT-1 appearance. Variant of the standard formula; the entry continues the Eden round from June 3, and Jesus explicitly cites the round context in his opening (“As I reach Eden it seems to me that Jesus wants to say something”). Counter: 122 → 123.

PHW-1 — fifteenth confirmed / human-will-as-thick-clouds / most-non-catastrophic-diagnostic: “The human will has formed thick clouds, and therefore one sees man without the glory, the order and the harmony of his creation.” Fifteenth PHW-1 diary-text appearance. Most formally non-catastrophic PHW-1 register: the human will does not destroy the three Suns or sever the communication pathways with the divine Persons but obstructs the effects from reaching human acts. The three Suns remain in place; the communication is “neither interrupted nor broken.” This is the most hope-oriented PHW-1 statement to date. Ezekiel 36:26–27 and John 3:8 added as governing anchors. Counter: 14 → 15.

TIS-1 (Stable) — three-Suns / Trinitarian-communication-pathways / reactivation-consideration-flagged: “These three Suns were formed by the Power of the Father, by the Wisdom of the Son, by the Love of the Holy Spirit… these three Suns remained in communication with the Three Divine Persons, in such a way that man possessed the way through which to ascend to Us, and We possessed the way through which to descend in him.” Significant TIS-1 advance: prior TIS-1 registers identified the Trinitarian indwelling in general terms; this entry gives the specific architectural account of how the communication pathways are structured — three powers, each in specific communication with one Person, each formed by that Person’s defining attribute. This is more formally developed than typical Stable-state TIS-1 appearances. Flagging for reactivation consideration at v54. 1 Corinthians 12:4–6 and John 10:30 added as governing anchors.

ECA-1 register — three-Suns-forming-perennial-refulgent-day / not-subject-to-night / most-anthropological-ECA-1: “In the soul Our paternal goodness infused three Suns, by which We formed in it the perennial and refulgent day — not subject to any night.” New ECA-1 register: the eternal creative act is here identified as having formed, within the soul itself, a day-without-night — a perennial, inextinguishable light corresponding to God’s own eternal day. James 1:17 (Father of lights without shadow) governs as new anchor.

IDR-1 register — clouds-as-specific-form-of-image-disfigurement / nothing-broken-only-obstructed: “One sees man without the glory, the order and the harmony of his creation. His works are without fruits, rotten and without beauty; his steps are unsteady.” New IDR-1 register specifying the form of the disfigurement: not the Suns extinguished but their light obstructed by the human will’s clouds. This is the most precisely non-total disfigurement register in IDR-1’s arc — the image subsists intact, only covered. Isaiah 44:22 added as governing anchor.
