Perseverance-Grace Chain
The doctrine that grace concurs with every good act the disposed soul performs (Philippians 2:13: God working in the soul both to will and to work) but the chain of graces is structurally linked to persevering works: intermittent good — “today yes, tomorrow no” — breaks the chain, may render divine designs vain, and constitutes contempt for grace (Hebrews 10:29: outraging the Spirit of grace), since divine designs are accomplished only where endurance links every act from beginning to end (Galatians 6:9; Hebrews 10:36; James 1:4; Matthew 10:22; Revelation 2:10).
