Passion as Applicable Garment
The doctrine that the Passion of Christ functions as a garment that can be applied to cover the soul’s nakedness of sin: as God clothed Adam and Eve in skins (Genesis 3:21), the soul clothed in Christ’s Passion (Isaiah 61:10: the garment of salvation) is covered in the righteousness of the one made sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21); the watchman-soul applies this garment in intercession (Ezekiel 3:17-21).
