Grace Image Accommodation
The doctrine that since the soul cannot receive the divine Being all at once (1 Corinthians 13:12: now we see in a mirror dimly), Grace accommodates by assuming distinct images around the soul for each divine perfection (beauty, wisdom, goodness, sanctity, justice, fortitude, power, purity), so the soul is studded with as many suns as there are divine perfections; these images are active when the soul corresponds through total intention-for-God (Matthew 6:22; 2 Corinthians 3:18) and asleep when she does not (2 Peter 1:3-4; Ephesians 3:14-19; 1 Corinthians 15:41-42).
