Heart-Thread Binding
The doctrine that from the Incarnation, shining threads from Christ’s Heart bound all human hearts — each thread corresponding to a specific interior power (desires, affections, love, life) — so that when Christ’s desires move from heaven the thread of desires excites human desires, the thread of love excites love, and the thread of life gives life (Ephesians 4:15-16; Colossians 2:19; Acts 17:28; Philippians 2:13); these threads are operative when the soul corresponds and their operations rendered vain by willful rejection, though the threads themselves remain (Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 2:14).
