Triple Passion Reparation
The doctrine that nearly all the pains of Christ’s Passion were deliberately tripled by divine disposition (Wisdom 11:20: arranged by measure, number, and weight) to render complete reparation: since every sin engages all three creaturely powers (intellect, memory, will) — disfiguring the imago Dei (Genesis 1:26-27) — the triple Passion correspondingly engaged all three to render the glory due to the Father, the reparation owed by creatures, and the good earned for them (Romans 5:18-19; 1 John 5:6-8; Colossians 2:13-14; Hebrews 9:12-14; Matthew 26:36-46).
