Perfect Contrition (Theocentric Form)
The doctrine that genuine contrition is moved “for the sole reason that we have offended You, highest Good, who deserve love” — theocentric sorrow for having wronged the lovable God rather than fear of punishment; this godly grief (2 Corinthians 7:10) is offered both for oneself and on behalf of all creatures and appeared to appease divine justice in the April 1902 sequence.
