Volume 12 — December 18, 1920 “Return of love and thanksgiving for all that God operated in the Celestial Mama.”
STAGE ONE — INDEPENDENT BIBLICAL IDENTIFICATION
The Whirlwind Prophecy — Temporal Rise and Fall of a Political Power
“Things are getting worse. It will come like a whirlwind, to shake everything; it will reign as long as a whirlwind does, and it will end just as a whirlwind ends. The Italian government lacks the ground under its feet, and it does not know what to aim at. Justice of God!”
Nahum 1:3 — “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. The LORD has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.” The whirlwind as a characteristic mode of divine governance in history — not random catastrophe but the Lord’s way of moving through creation in judicial action. The power that comes and passes like a whirlwind passes by the same divine governance that sent it. Direct doctrinal parallel
Jeremiah 25:32 — “The LORD of Armies says, “Behold, evil will go out from nation to nation, and a great storm will be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.” The divine tempest moving from nation to nation as a form of the CEA-1 judicial instrument passing through political structures. The whirlwind is not locally contained but propagates, as Jesus’s prophecy implies: Italy is the specific point of affliction, but the storm is larger. Direct doctrinal parallel
Isaiah 40:24 — “They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.” The divine governance of political powers — planted, rooted, and then blown away by the divine breath; temporary reign and inevitable end. The whirlwind image applied to the political order is already present in Isaiah as a standard mode of prophetic perception. Typological
Daniel 2:34–35, 44 (paraphrase) — The stone that strikes the image and fills the whole earth; the kingdoms that rise and are broken in succession, replaced by the kingdom that will never be destroyed. The structural pattern governing the whirlwind-power: temporary dominance followed by collapse, without any earthly agency responsible for the end. Typological
The Clinging to Jesus — The Condition of the Universal Act
“I felt I was outside of myself, and I found myself together with my sweet Jesus, but clinging so tightly to Him, and He to me, that I almost could not see His Divine Person.”
Song of Songs 3:4 — “I had scarcely passed from them, when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, into the room of her who conceived me.” The bilateral clinging of the lover who has found the Beloved after searching — and who, having found, will not release. The entry’s image of mutual clinging (“he to me”) is this Song of Songs dynamic enacted in the full DW register. Affective/meditative
Psalm 63:8 — “My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.” The Psalmist’s clinging with the divine hand holding in response — bilateral engagement structurally identical to the entry’s “clinging so tightly to Him, and He to me.” The soul’s clinging is not one-sided; it is met by a divine upholding that makes the clinging possible. Affective/meditative
The Universal Act of Thanksgiving for Mary — In the Name of All Generations
“I want to seize each act of creature - each word, thought, heartbeat and step - and tell You, in each one of them, that I love You, I thank You, I bless You, I adore You, for all that You have done in your Celestial Mama and mine.”
Luke 1:46–48 — “Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord. My spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior, for he has looked at the humble state of his servant. For behold, from now on, all generations will call me blessed.” Mary’s own Magnificat is the precedent for the universal thanksgiving Luisa now offers on behalf of all generations. Mary declared that all generations would call her blessed; Luisa, in the name of all generations, enacts that calling — doing what all generations owe but have not performed. Typological
Luke 1:28 — “Having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, you highly favored one! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women!” The angelic declaration of Mary’s unique fullness of grace — “enriched with all gifts” — is precisely what Luisa is thanking God for: the creation of the Immaculate, most beautiful, holiest, enriched with every gift. The thanksgiving names what the annunciation revealed. Direct doctrinal parallel
Revelation 12:1 — “A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” The Apocalyptic vision of Mary’s supreme dignity and cosmic station — the visual theology of why Luisa says “the most beautiful one, the holiest, a portent of Grace.” The act of thanksgiving is for this. Typological
Ephesians 1:3–6 — “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him … to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved.” The universal blessing architecture in which Mary’s enrichment is the supreme particular instance — every spiritual blessing in Christ, concentrated first and most fully in the one he chose as his Mother. Luisa’s act returns the “praise of his glorious grace” that creation owes. Direct doctrinal parallel
Sirach 24:9–10 — “He created me from the beginning, before the ages. For all ages, I will not cease to exist. In the holy tabernacle, I ministered before him. So I was established in Zion.” The eternal consecration of Wisdom — a type of Mary’s primordial election and perpetual ministry before God, enriched with gifts before the ages as Luisa’s thanksgiving implies. Typological
Psalm 45:13–14 — “The princess inside is all glorious. Her clothing is interwoven with gold. She shall be led to the king in embroidered work. The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to you.” The royal processional of the bride arrayed in splendor — a type of Mary’s preparation and enrichment by God for her unique royal dignity as queen and mother. Typological
Romans 11:36 — “For of him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.” The doxological structure of the universal return: all things proceeding from God, and all returning to him in glory. Luisa’s act enacts this structure specifically: gathering every creature-act and returning it to God as love, thanksgiving, blessing, and adoration — everything the creature owes for what proceeded from God in Mary. Direct doctrinal parallel
”My Justice and My Love Felt the Need of This Return”
“I was anxiously awaiting this act of yours in the name of all generations. My Justice and my Love felt the need of this return, because great are the graces which descend upon all, for having enriched my Mama so much. Yet, they never have a word, a ‘thank You’ to say to Me.”
Luke 17:17–18 — “Jesus answered, “Weren’t the ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there none found who returned to give glory to God, except this foreigner?” The Lucan ingratitude topos — the healed who do not return, the one who does as the singular who completes what all owe. Jesus’s “anxiously awaiting” the thanksgiving from Luisa in the name of all is the same divine waiting for the return that the parable of the ten expresses at its most pointed. Direct doctrinal parallel
Romans 1:21 — “Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.” The ingratitude of those who received divine gifts without acknowledging the Giver — the structural failure underlying “never a word, a ‘thank You’ to say to Me.” This is the Pauline diagnosis of the sin of ingratitude as the root of deeper disorder. Direct doctrinal parallel
Hosea 2:8 — “For she didn’t know that I gave her the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and multiplied to her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.” God naming the unacknowledged gifts — the pattern of receiving without acknowledging the Giver, which is precisely the failure Jesus laments over the gifts given through Mary. The grace descending upon all through Mary’s enrichment is received and not recognized. Typological
Isaiah 48:11 — “For my own sake, for my own sake, I will do it; for how would my name be profaned? I will not give my glory to another.” The divine concern for the integrity of the divine name — not from self-interest but because unacknowledged glory is glory profaned, glory given to what is not God. Justice requires the return because unrecognized gift-giving misidentifies the source. Direct doctrinal parallel
Psalm 50:14–15 — “Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High. Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” Thanksgiving as sacrifice — the structural act of returning to God what belongs to him. Luisa’s act is explicitly this: “I want to… tell You, in each one of them, that I love You, I thank You, I bless You, I adore You” — the sacrifice of thanksgiving offered on behalf of all who have not offered it. Direct doctrinal parallel
”Nothing Is Over” — The Permanence of Love and Will Beneath the Feelings
“‘Everything is over for me – suffering, visits of Jesus – everything.’ And He: ‘Have you perhaps stopped loving Me, or doing my Will?’ And I: ‘No, may this never be.’ And He: ‘If this is not - nothing is over.‘”
Romans 8:35, 38–39 — “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing is over while the love remains — Paul’s version of the same principle Jesus states: the love of Christ cannot be severed by circumstance, suffering, or the absence of consolation. Direct doctrinal parallel
John 10:28–29 — “I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” The divine holding from which nothing is over — the soul’s union is held by the Father’s and Son’s hands, not by the soul’s felt experience of it. What Luisa thought was over is precisely what remains intact. Direct doctrinal parallel
Galatians 2:20 — “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.” The continuation of the true life beneath and beyond the surface of feeling — what Paul names as “the life I now live” is continuous with the life that persists when consolations cease. The DW union is of this Galatians-2:20 order: subsisting in faith and love, not in sensible experience. Direct doctrinal parallel
Lamentations 3:21–23 — “This I recall to my mind; therefore I have hope. It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his mercies don’t fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.” The soul in desolation recalling what remains true beneath the experience of loss — the structural movement Jesus asks Luisa to make: look not at the feelings (“everything is over”) but at the underlying reality (steadfast love, unceasing mercy). Affective/meditative

ADDITIONS — HERS
Hogan provides substantial historical annotation: the whirlwind is the communist revolution of the early twentieth century; the USSR absorbed nations through Marxist ideology; Italy was specifically devastated as the heart of the Church; the formal collapse of the USSR (1991) without bloodshed is the whirlwind ending as predicted. Hogan also identifies communist expansion to Asia (“Pol Pot and people like that in the East”) as the whirlwind moving from nation to nation. The implicit scriptural background for this annotation is the prophetic tradition of the nations as instruments of divine justice passing and being passed — Daniel 2 (the succession of kingdoms) and Jeremiah 25:32 (the tempest moving from nation to nation) as the structural OT types.
Hogan’s pastoral gloss on the “nothing is over” exchange: “she’s falling into the trap of looking at her feelings and not looking at the reality of her condition of union with God.” The implicit scriptural background is 2 Corinthians 5:7 (“we walk by faith, not by sight”) — the Pauline principle that the governing reality of the Christian life is not the sensible but the actual, not the felt but the real. This is a WDC-1 application.
VIP / SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS
None. Hogan does not designate this entry as VIP.
STAGE TWO SYNTHESIS
The entry moves through three theologically distinct sections. The whirlwind prophecy advances CEA-1 with specific historical annotation from Hogan (communist revolution, USSR, Italy). The universal thanksgiving for Mary is the entry’s theological summit — Luisa enacting what all generations owe, gathering every creature-act into a return of love and gratitude, with Jesus naming his “anxious awaiting” as a disclosure of what divine Justice and Love require from the creature for the graces given through Mary. The “nothing is over” exchange is a compact but theologically precise statement of the union’s subsistence beneath feeling — a WDC-1 and SUW-1 application. The entry has no explicit Hogan citations; Stage One supplies the full biblical architecture.
Cross-Entry Synthesis
Volume 12 — December 18, 1920 “Return of love and thanksgiving for all that God operated in the Celestial Mama.”
The Whirlwind — CEA-1 Advances with Historical Annotation
The entry opens with a prophecy structured precisely around the whirlwind image: a power that comes, shakes everything, reigns for its season, and ends as it came. Jesus does not name the power; Hogan identifies it with certainty as the communist revolution of the early twentieth century — the USSR, the absorption of nations into ideological atheism, and Italy as the specific point of ecclesial devastation. The whirlwind’s end is already confirmed from Hogan’s vantage point: 1991, without a shot fired.
The prophetic tradition supplies the structural theology. Nahum 1:3 names the pattern as inherent to the divine way: “his way is in whirlwind and storm.” God governs through the storm, not apart from it. Jeremiah 25:32 traces the tempest moving from nation to nation — not a local event but a structural movement through political history. Isaiah 40:24 supplies the botanical image of the doomed political power: planted, rooted, and then swept away like stubble. Daniel 2’s kingdom-sequence is the deep structural type: kingdoms rise and are broken in succession, and the stone cut without human hands fills the whole earth when the time comes.
The specific annotation of Italy — “the Italian government lacks the ground under its feet, and it does not know what to aim at” — extends CEA-1’s Italy/Rome proportional-culpability arc. Italy’s susceptibility is specifically named because, as Hogan observes, Italy is the heart of the Church; the communist penetration of Italian political culture was therefore not merely a national calamity but a direct assault on the Church’s institutional home. The “Justice of God!” that closes the prophecy is not merely a lament but a theological disclosure: the whirlwind is not random disorder but divine justice in its historical form.
The Universal Thanksgiving for Mary — The Act All Generations Owe
The theological summit of the entry is Luisa’s act of universal thanksgiving: clinging to Jesus, she gathers every act of every past, present, and future creature — every thought, word, heartbeat, step — and offers them all to God as love, thanks, blessing, and adoration for what he did in creating Mary. Jesus receives this with explicit joy and names it as the act he was “anxiously awaiting.”
Luke 1:46–48 is the governing typological framework: Mary herself declared in the Magnificat that “from now on all generations will call me blessed.” Luisa’s act is the structural completion of this prophecy — she performs in the name of all generations the calling-blessed that Mary said would come. The Magnificat declared the future; Luisa’s act enacts it on behalf of all who have not done so. The thanksgiving is not devotional but ontological: it is what all generations owe, and its non-performance has left a structural deficit in the divine economy.
This is confirmed by Jesus’s disclosure: “my Justice and my Love felt the need of this return.” The formulation is precise and theologically significant. Both attributes — not Love alone, which might be expected — need the return. Justice needs it because the creature’s non-response to the graces given through Mary is a structural failure to acknowledge what is due; Isaiah 48:11 provides the ground (“how should my name be profaned?”). Love needs it because unreturned love is love that has not achieved its purpose — it has given but not been received in acknowledgment. Luke 17:17–18 supplies the evangelical type: where are the nine? The singular return of the Samaritan is what Luisa now performs for all of human history’s nine-tenths that did not return.
Romans 11:36 names the doxological structure of the act itself: “from him and through him and to him are all things.” Luisa is doing what all creation is designed to do but has not done: gathering what came from God through Mary and returning it to God in worship. The “to him are all things” that Romans 11:36 declares as the structure of reality is what Luisa enacts in each creature-act she gathers.
Ephesians 1:3–6 provides the theological content of what is being thanked for: “he has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” — Mary is the supreme instance of this blessing, enriched beyond all others, chosen before the foundation of the world, the one through whom every spiritual blessing flows. The thanksgiving for Mary is, at its root, thanksgiving for the whole economy of grace concentrated in its supreme vessel.
This act is a formally distinct DW-MARY-1 advance — Luisa’s universal representational prayer centered explicitly on Mary’s creation, enrichment, and universal motherhood. It is also a VSC-1 register: the universal-act-presentation that March 19, 1920 named in its most general form (“in your gaze, in your word, in your action, in the food you take, and even in your sleep, those of all”) is here specified with a distinct directional content — not merely universal intercession but universal thanksgiving specifically offered for Mary. The two registers are formally distinct.
”Nothing Is Over” — Union Beneath the Experience of Loss
The entry’s third movement is brief but structurally complete. Luisa declares everything finished — suffering, visits, everything. Jesus responds not with consolation but with a diagnostic question: “Have you perhaps stopped loving Me, or doing my Will?” When she answers no, his reply is immediate and total: “If this is not — nothing is over.”
The theological principle is precisely the one Hogan identifies: the union subsists in love and will, not in feeling. Hogan glosses it as falling into the trap of governing oneself by feelings rather than by the reality of union. The implicit Pauline text is 2 Corinthians 5:7 — “we walk by faith, not by sight” — the governing epistemology of the Christian life that prevents the experienced absence of consolation from being mistaken for actual absence of union.
The biblical tradition supporting this exchange is unanimous. Romans 8:35–39 excludes every conceivable severance from the love of Christ: tribulation, distress, persecution, famine — the list covers precisely what Luisa is experiencing (affliction, absence of consolations, suffering). John 10:28–29 locates the holding not in the soul’s felt experience but in the Father’s and Son’s hands — the union is held from above, not from below. Galatians 2:20 names what continues: “the life I now live… I live by faith in the Son of God” — the true life is not the life of consolation but the life of faith and love, and this has not ceased. Lamentations 3:21–23 is the Old Testament structural type: the soul in desolation calling to mind what remains true beneath the experience of loss, finding hope not in changed circumstances but in unchanged divine steadfastness.
This exchange is a compact WDC-1 / SUW-1 convergence. WDC-1’s interior-poverty-as-positive-sign principle (September 13, 1919: “the surest sign of my teachings within you is that you feel nothing of your own”) is here demonstrated in the exchange’s logic: feeling that “everything is over” is compatible with nothing being over if the love and will remain. The SUW-1 bound-will-automaticity form (June 10, 1920) provides the structural ground: the will once bound to the Eternal Will runs automatically even when the soul does not consciously perceive it — the union subsists in the binding, not in the felt experience of it.
Synthesis
Dominant biblical imagination: The prophetic tradition of divine governance through whirlwind (Nahum, Jeremiah, Isaiah), the Marian typological tradition (Luke 1; Revelation 12; Psalm 45), the doxological return-structure (Romans 11:36; Ephesians 1:3–6; Psalm 50:14–15), and the Pauline theology of union-beneath-feeling (Romans 8:35–39; Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 5:7).
Most load-bearing traditions: Luke 1:46–48 carries the Magnificat precedent for Luisa’s universal act; Romans 11:36 names its doxological structure; Romans 8:35–39 and John 10:28–29 carry the “nothing is over” principle; Nahum 1:3 and Daniel 2 ground the whirlwind in the theology of divine governance.
Three findings of greatest theological significance: First, the disclosure that “my Justice and my Love felt the need of this return” is an RJL-1 advance: both divine attributes — not Love alone — require the creature’s response to the graces given through Mary, and the non-performance of thanksgiving leaves a structural deficit that Luisa’s act, offered in the name of all generations, supplies. Second, Luisa’s universal thanksgiving for Mary is formally distinct from the universal-act-presentation (March 19, 1920): that was intercessory in scope; this is doxological in content — it is specifically the thanksgiving and adoration due to God for Mary that has never been paid, and Luisa pays it on behalf of all history. Third, the “nothing is over” exchange discloses the logical structure of the DW union’s indestructibility: the union is co-extensive with love and will, not with consolation, so its disappearance from the level of feeling is not its disappearance — this is the WDC-1 principle enacted at the most personal level of Luisa’s own spiritual history.
Observation Notes

12-1920-12-18
CEA-1 — Whirlwind / communist revolution advance: Italy specifically named as lacking ground under its feet; the whirlwind will come, shake everything, reign for its season, and end as it came. Hogan annotates explicitly as the communist revolution / USSR, with the 1991 collapse “without anybody firing a shot” as historical fulfillment. The tempest moving from nation to nation (Hogan: Pol Pot and Asian Marxist regimes) extends CEA-1’s geographic scope beyond Europe. The Italy/Rome proportional-culpability arc advances: Italy as the heart of the Church made the communist penetration a direct ecclesial assault. Governing anchors: Nahum 1:3; Jeremiah 25:32; Isaiah 40:24; Daniel 2:34–35, 44.
DW-MARY-1 — Universal-thanksgiving-for-Mary form (major advance): Luisa offers, in the name of all past/present/future creatures, every act — every word, thought, heartbeat, step — as love, thanks, blessing, and adoration to God for creating Mary as Immaculate, most beautiful, holiest, enriched with all gifts, made universal Mother. Jesus names this as “anxiously awaited in the name of all generations.” Most formally complete DW-MARY-1 universal representational act in the corpus; grounded in Luke 1:46–48 (Magnificat: all generations will call her blessed — Luisa performs this on behalf of all who have not). Governing anchors: Luke 1:46–48; Luke 1:28; Revelation 12:1; Ephesians 1:3–6; Romans 11:36.
RJL-1 — Bilateral-need-of-return form: “My Justice and my Love felt the need of this return.” Both divine attributes — Justice and Love — require the creature’s response to the graces given through Mary; non-performance is a structural deficit addressed by Luisa’s representative act. Justice needs it because unacknowledged gifts leave the divine name unrecognized (Isaiah 48:11); Love needs it because unreturned gift-giving has not achieved its purpose. This is RJL-1’s most specific statement of the bilateral divine-attribute requirement for creature-return; connects to the March 19, 1920 disclosure of Justice’s co-equal rights. Governing anchors: Luke 17:17–18; Romans 1:21; Isaiah 48:11; Hosea 2:8; Psalm 50:14–15.
VSC-1 — Universal-thanksgiving-presentation candidate: The universal gathering of every creature-act and presentation to God as thanksgiving for Mary is formally distinct from the March 19, 1920 universal-act-presentation candidate (which was intercessory in scope). This candidate’s content is doxological — specifically the thanksgiving and adoration due for Mary — offered in the name of all generations. The two candidates (March 19 / December 18) should be registered as separate VSC-1 entries if both are confirmed, the distinction being intercessory vs. doxological scope.
WDC-1 / SUW-1 — Union-beneath-feeling exchange: “If [love and will remain] — nothing is over.” The DW union disclosed as co-extensive with love and will, not with consolation or felt experience. Hogan’s gloss: “falling into the trap of looking at her feelings and not the reality of her condition of union with God.” The implicit Pauline ground is 2 Corinthians 5:7 (walk by faith, not by sight). Connects to the June 10 bound-will-automaticity form (SUW-1) and September 13, 1919 interior-poverty-as-positive-sign form (WDC-1).
