Universal Bond with Humanity Doctrine
The doctrine that the DW soul’s bond with Christ constitutes a necessary bond with the whole human family — “because of the bonds you have with Me, you remain bound to the human family, and you yourself are forced to feel this pain – the human generations which separate from Me with their horrendous sins” — her co-suffering with the human family being not chosen but compelled by the very structure of DW union, as one whose bond with Christ is total cannot be indifferent to what wounds him; the mechanism being that just as Christ’s bond with all humanity compels him to feel the pain of every sin, the DW soul’s bond with Christ propagates that same compulsion through her, making her the involuntary co-sufferer with the whole human family across every generation. The scriptural ground is Romans 8:22–23 (the whole creation groaning together — the creaturely correlate of the pain the DW soul must feel as the human family separates), Romans 9:2–3 (Paul’s great sorrow and unceasing anguish for his people — the Pauline form of the bond that forces co-suffering with those who separate), Colossians 1:24 (filling up in my flesh what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for his body — the co-redemptive structure of the compelled suffering), and John 11:33–35 (Jesus weeping at the tomb of Lazarus — the Incarnate Son’s own compelled co-suffering as the structural original of which the DW soul’s bond is the creaturely participation).
