Faith-Hope Dissolution Doctrine
The VIP doctrine (#44) that the soul living in the Divine Will reaches a proleptic dissolution of faith and hope into pure love because she has entered into present-life possession of God: since faith operates only where there is the not-yet-seen (Hebrews 11:1; 2 Corinthians 5:7) and hope only where there is the not-yet-possessed (Romans 8:24-25), the soul enclosed in the Will who “already possesses It by living in God” has no room for either mode, and comes to love God with his own love — a present-life participation in the eschatological state of 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 where love alone endures; true and perfect resignation is the mark of sure predestination.
