16-1924-03-13 Biblical Resonance Analysis

Volume 16 — March 13, 1924 “True love can hide nothing to the beloved of what it has in its heart. The immense Light of the Divine Will contains and carries everything – pains and joys – in order to perform its crafting. So It did in Jesus, and so It does in the soul.”

STAGE ONE — Independent Biblical Identification

The Privation and the Nature of True Love

“True love can hide nothing to the beloved - either joys or pains. For one sorrowful thought, for one fiber of the heart, which it hides and does not pour into the beloved, it feels as though separated from her, discontent, restless; and until it pours all its heart into the loved one, it cannot find rest… I will be content with suffering in seeing you suffer, rather than not pour all of My Heart in you.”

1 John 4:7-8 — “Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love.” The identification of love with the divine nature corresponds to Jesus’ account of the compulsive transparency of true love — the love that cannot withhold a fiber is not a psychological disposition but the divine nature itself moving through relationship. Direct doctrinal parallel

John 15:13-15 — “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant doesn’t know what his lord does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.” The disclosure of everything known to the Father — “all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you” — corresponds to Jesus’ account of true love that must pour all its heart, all its pains, all its most intimate secrets into the beloved. The transition from servant (who is not told everything) to friend (who is told everything) is the exact movement Jesus describes. Direct doctrinal parallel

Song of Songs 8:6-7 — “Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; for love is strong as death. Jealousy is as cruel as Sheol. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a very flame of the LORD. Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.” The love that is “strong as death” — compulsive, ineradicable, restless until fully united — corresponds to Jesus’ account of true love that cannot withhold even a fiber without feeling separation and discontent. The “fierce as the grave” quality names the irreversible depth of the compulsion. Affective/meditative

Romans 5:5 — “and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” The love poured out through the Spirit corresponds to Jesus’ love that pours all His heart into the beloved — the verb of pouring is both the entry’s language and Paul’s, and in both cases it is the divine love itself acting through the giving act. Direct doctrinal parallel

The Light of the Divine Will as Mechanism of Pain-Transmission

“it was the Light of my Will to make you suffer. Penetrating into you as most pure light, It brought my pains down to the most intimate fibers of your heart. My Will is more piercing than any sword; more than nails, thorns and scourges. Being most pure light, in Its immensity, It sees and encloses everything; therefore, it contains the power of all pains, and as It makes Its light penetrate the soul, It brings the pains It wants.”

1 Timothy 6:16 — “He alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen nor can see, to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.” The unapproachable light corresponds to the immense Light of the Divine Will within which Luisa felt herself submerged — and which, penetrating the soul, brings everything it contains. Direct doctrinal parallel

Hebrews 4:12-13 — “For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart. There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account.” The divine word “sharper than any two-edged sword” corresponds directly to Jesus’ statement “My Will is more piercing than any sword; more than nails, thorns and scourges.” The all-seeing penetration into marrow and spirit is the scriptural form of the Light that “sees and encloses everything” and “crucified the most intimate fibers.” Direct doctrinal parallel

Isaiah 53:5 — “But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.” The piercing and crushing that bore others’ pains corresponds to the DW Light’s transmission of pains into the soul’s innermost fibers — and in the VSC-1 context, to the mechanism by which the DW soul participates in the bearing. Christological/Trinitarian

Colossians 1:24 — “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,” The participation in Christ’s afflictions as a filling-up mechanism corresponds to Luisa’s sharing of the pains transmitted through the DW Light — the current of light carrying Christ’s sufferings into the soul who is one will with Him. Direct doctrinal parallel

Hebrews 12:29 — “for our God is a consuming fire.” The divine essence as consuming fire — penetrating, impossible to contain within limits — corresponds to the all-consuming Light of the Divine Will that penetrates into every fiber, bringing everything it contains and sparing nothing. Affective/meditative

The Perpetual Crucified — The Divinity’s Light Crucifying Jesus’ Humanity

“So did my Divinity operate in my Humanity. Its most pure Light brought Me pains at every breath, at every heartbeat, at every movement – into my whole Person. Nothing was hidden to It – either that which was needed in order to restore the glory of the Father on the part of creatures, or their offenses, or that which was needed in order to save them. Therefore, It spared Me nothing; Its most pure Light crucified my most intimate fibers, my heartbeats of fire, and so It made of Me the perpetual Crucified – and not only in my hands and feet; rather, Its Light, scanning Me completely, crucified the most tiny particles of my Person.”

Philippians 2:7-8 — “but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.” The kenosis — the self-emptying that made Jesus’ humanity fully open to the Divinity’s operating Light — corresponds to the perpetual crucifixion at every breath and heartbeat. The cross is not a terminal event but the form of the entire Incarnation. Christological/Trinitarian

Hebrews 5:7-8 — “He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered.” The suffering “in the days of his flesh” through which Jesus learned obedience corresponds to the continuous suffering at every breath and heartbeat through the DW Light — not one climactic act but the entire mode of the Incarnation. Christological/Trinitarian

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 — “always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh.” The continuous carrying of Jesus’ death in the body — the death not as a terminal event but as a continuous mode of existence — corresponds to the perpetual crucifixion of every fiber and particle of Jesus’ Person. Christological/Trinitarian

Romans 5:19 — “For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.” The one man’s obedience — which in the entry’s frame is the continuous submission of Jesus’ Humanity to the Divinity’s crucifying Light at every heartbeat and breath — is the mechanism of the universal restoration. Christological/Trinitarian

The Forward Bridge — When the Divine Will Will Manifest These Pains

“Ah, if creatures knew what my Divine Will made my Humanity suffer for love of them, they would be drawn to love Me as by a powerful magnet. But for now they cannot, because their taste is rough and profaned by the human will… But the time will come when the Supreme Will, making Its way in the midst of creatures and making Itself understood more, will manifest the pains which my Eternal Will made my Humanity suffer.”

John 16:12-13 — “I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak from himself; but whatever he hears, he will speak. He will declare to you things that are coming.” The phased disclosure of truths the disciples could not bear corresponds to the entry’s logic: creatures living at the level of the human will cannot receive this revelation now; the time will come when the DW’s advance into the world’s understanding carries it. Direct doctrinal parallel

1 Corinthians 2:9-10 — “these God has prepared for those who love him.” But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit.” The Spirit’s revelation of what has been prepared corresponds to the forward bridge: the time will come when the DW Spirit-movement will manifest the pains that the DW made Jesus’ Humanity suffer. Typological

Romans 8:18 — “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.” The future revelation that will reframe present understanding corresponds to the coming manifestation of the DW’s interior pains — a weight of love that the present human-will level cannot receive or appreciate. Affective/meditative

The Fusing in the DW — Ascending, Descending, and Living from Reflections

“I felt as though submerged in His Will… In His Will I lived of the reflections of God, and while receiving everything from Him, I found everything and I carried all Creation on my lap at the feet of the Eternal Majesty. It seemed to me that in His Will I did nothing but ascend to Heaven and descend upon earth, to ascend again in order to bring all generations, to love Him for all, and to make Him loved by all.”

John 1:51 — “He said to him, “Most certainly, I tell you all, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” The ascending and descending of the angels on the Son of Man corresponds to Luisa ascending to Heaven and descending upon earth continuously — the ladder is the Divine Will itself, and the soul fusing in it follows the same ascending-descending movement. Typological

Genesis 28:12-13 — “And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!” Jacob’s ladder — the archetype that Jesus reappropriates in John 1:51 — corresponds to the DW soul’s continuous ascent to bring all generations and descent to gather them. Typological

2 Corinthians 3:18 — “But we all, with unveiled face seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord, the Spirit.” Living from the reflections of God corresponds exactly to “beholding the glory of the Lord” — the transformative seeing through the unveiled face that progressively shapes the soul into the divine image. Direct doctrinal parallel

Psalm 36:9 — “For with you is the spring of life. In your light we will see light.” Living from the reflections of God — receiving everything in His light — corresponds to this vision of the creature whose very seeing comes entirely from the divine light. The DW soul who “lives from reflections” is the soul who sees light only in God’s light. Affective/meditative

Romans 11:36 — “For of him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.” Carrying all Creation to the feet of the Eternal Majesty — bringing all generations to love Him for all — is the creaturely enactment of Romans 11:36: the creature as the instrument of the “to him” movement. Direct doctrinal parallel

John 7:37-39 — “Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink! He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.” But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.” The rivers of living water flowing from the soul who drinks from Christ corresponds to the DW soul who draws so much love from God as to be able to love Him for all — the soul becomes the channel of the divine river outward to all. Direct doctrinal parallel

The DW Soul — Embellished, Enriched, Enlarged to Become What God Is by Nature

“She lives from Our reflections, and while living from Our reflections, she absorbs the likeness of her Creator within herself… Our Love for the soul who lives in Our Will is so great that, by virtue of our Will, the soul becomes that which We are by nature. We pour everything into her; not even a fiber do We leave out which is not filled of Our own. We fill her so much as to make her overflow, forming divine rivers and seas around her; and We descend into these seas to amuse Ourselves, admiring Our works with love, and feeling fully glorified.”

2 Peter 1:4 — “by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.” The participation in the divine nature corresponds to “the soul becomes that which We are by nature” — the entry’s most theologically complete deification statement, which corresponds to 2 Peter’s theōsis formula. Direct doctrinal parallel

Ephesians 2:10 — “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.” The creature as God’s workmanship corresponds to the DW soul being embellished, enriched, and enlarged by God’s own working — she is the canvas on which the Creator is working, and the work is entirely His. Affective/meditative

Colossians 1:19 — “For all the fullness was pleased to dwell in him,” The fullness of God dwelling in Christ corresponds to the DW soul being filled until she overflows — “We fill her so much as to make her overflow, forming divine rivers and seas around her.” The fullness that in Christ is hypostatic becomes in the DW soul participatory. Christological/Trinitarian

Psalm 82:6 — “I said, “You are gods, all of you are sons of the Most High.” The divine address to creatures as “gods” and “sons of the Most High” corresponds to the soul who by virtue of the DW becomes what God is by nature — the highest scriptural statement of creaturely elevation. Direct doctrinal parallel

The Creative Word Repeated — “Let Us Make This Soul in Our Image and Likeness”

“live in the most pure Light of my Will, if you want your Jesus to repeat again that word which He said in creating man: ‘By virtue of Our Will, let Us make this soul in Our Image and Likeness.‘”

Genesis 1:26-27 — “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness’… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him.” The original creative word — “Let us make” — is the exact word Jesus says He will repeat for the DW soul. The DW living is the condition that makes the creative word operative again, the original intent of Creation being re-enacted in the individual soul. Direct doctrinal parallel

Romans 8:29 — “For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.” The predestination to conformity with the Son’s image corresponds to the repeated creative word over the DW soul — the DW living is the mode by which the image-conformation God foreknew and predestined is actually accomplished. Direct doctrinal parallel

Colossians 3:10 — “and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,” The new self renewed after the image of the Creator corresponds to the DW soul in whom Jesus repeats the creative word of image-making — the recreation is not a new creation but the original creation fulfilled. Direct doctrinal parallel

STAGE TWO — Comparison with Hogan’s Commentary

CORRESPONDENCES

1 John 1:5 — Both identified for God as light as the foundational identification underlying the entry’s light theology.

1 John 4:7 — Both identified for God as love — Hogan cites both 1:5 and 4:7 together at the opening as the entry’s twin governing axioms.

Luke 17:21 — Both identified for Jesus moving in Luisa’s interior.

1 Timothy 6:16 — Both identified for the unapproachable light corresponding to the immense Light Luisa felt.

2 Corinthians 3:18 — Both identified for living from God’s reflections as transformative beholding of the divine glory.

John 1:51 — Both identified for the ascending and descending movement in the DW fusing. Hogan cites “the letter” of John 1:51; Stage One identifies both John 1:51 and its Genesis 28 archetype.

Ephesians 2:10 — Both identified for the DW soul as God’s workmanship being embellished and enriched.

John 7:37-39 — Both identified for the rivers of living water flowing from the soul as the love drawn from God for all.

Psalm 82:6 — Both identified for “I said you are gods, sons of the Most High.” Note: Hogan again cites this as “Psalm 86, verse 5” — a recurring error already corrected as #252 on February 28.

Psalm 8 — Both identified (Hogan explicitly; Stage One in earlier entries and implicitly here) for the creature as “little less than a god.”

DEVIATIONS

No substantive deviations in angle between the sources in this entry. The convergence is unusually consistent. Hogan moves through the entry with primarily pastoral commentary, developing the interior-vs-exterior suffering transition and the “scanning” image, but her biblical citations substantially overlap with Stage One’s identifications.

ADDITIONS — HERS

No significant Hogan additions beyond the concordances above. Hogan’s most distinctive contribution is pastoral and hermeneutical rather than citational: her observation that Luisa’s sufferings have now gone entirely interior (“she’s shifted into a higher plane altogether — the pains on an interior level, in the divine will, are divine pains”) and her identification of the entry as disclosing “the interior passion of Jesus that went on his whole life.” Both are precise theological observations that the BRA framework registers as developments of ICW-1 and IAD-1 rather than new biblical trajectories.

VIP / SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS

No VIP designation by Hogan for this entry.

STAGE TWO SYNTHESIS

The combined findings converge with unusual consistency. Both sources identify the same governing light-and-love axioms (1 John 1:5; 1 John 4:7; 1 Timothy 6:16) and the same transformation-from-reflections trajectory (2 Corinthians 3:18; John 7:37-39; Psalm 82:6). The most significant Stage One additions — Hebrews 4:12-13 (sharper than any sword), 2 Peter 1:4 (partakers of the divine nature), Philippians 2:7-8 (kenosis enabling perpetual crucifixion), and John 15:13-15 (disclosure to friends) — are not contested by Hogan but lie beyond her citational reach in this commentary. Tracking items directly implicated: ICW-1 (perpetual Crucified / every breath and heartbeat — most physiologically complete form); IAD-1 (true-love-hides-nothing axiomatic form — the theological ground of the IAD disclosed); AJD-1 (“soul becomes that which We are by nature” — deification apex in the DW context); PHD-1 forward bridge (“the time will come when the Supreme Will will manifest the pains”). The dominant biblical traditions are: (1) the Johannine light-and-love complex; (2) the kenotic-Christological tradition of continuous suffering (Philippians 2; Hebrews 5; 2 Corinthians 4); (3) the deification tradition (2 Peter 1:4; Genesis 1:26-27; 2 Corinthians 3:18).

Cross-Entry Synthesis

Volume 16 — March 13, 1924 “True love can hide nothing to the beloved of what it has in its heart. The immense Light of the Divine Will contains and carries everything – pains and joys – in order to perform its crafting. So It did in Jesus, and so It does in the soul.”

The Nature of True Love — Compulsive Transparency as Divine Necessity

The entry opens from the occasion of the privation — Luisa’s suffering from Jesus’ absence — and Jesus’ explanation: He delayed because His love would compel Him to share His pains, and He would suffer in seeing her suffer. Luisa’s response — “Come without making me suffer” — draws out a theological axiom that both sources identify as central: true love cannot hide anything from the beloved.

The governing axiom is stated with precision: for one sorrowful thought, for one fiber withheld, love feels separated, discontent, restless — and it cannot rest until it has poured all its heart into the beloved. Both sources identify the love-texts immediately: 1 John 1:5 (God is light) and 1 John 4:7 (love is from God) as the twin axioms of the entry. Hogan states this plainly at the opening: “God is light and God is love.” Stage One grounds the axiom doctrinally in John 15:13-15 — the transition from servants to friends is the transition from partial to total disclosure: “all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” The disclosure-to-friends is not a courtesy but a necessity of true love’s nature: the servant is not told everything; the friend must be told everything, or the love is not whole. Song of Songs 8:6-7 supplies the affective texture: love “strong as death,” “fierce as the grave” — the compulsive quality of love that cannot rest without full union. Romans 5:5 provides the Pauline confirmation: the love “poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit” — the verb of pouring is both Paul’s and the entry’s.

The IAD-1 dimension becomes explicit here for the first time as a theological axiom rather than merely an observed pattern: the IAD (the divine longing that goes unreturned) exists because divine love has the structural inability to withhold. The affective wound named across all prior IAD-1 registers — the tears brought to Luisa, the seeking refuge in her soul, the joys returning to the Heart in grief — is now disclosed as rooted in the nature of true love itself, which is the nature of God.

The Light of the Divine Will as Pain-Transmission Mechanism

Jesus clarifies that it was not He personally who caused Luisa’s suffering but the Light of the Divine Will: “Penetrating into you as most pure light, It brought my pains down to the most intimate fibers of your heart.” The Light, being most pure and all-seeing, contains the power of all pains and transmits what it contains.

Both sources identify 1 Timothy 6:16 (the unapproachable light) as the scriptural anchor for the immense Light Luisa felt. Stage One’s most significant addition is Hebrews 4:12-13, which supplies the direct scriptural parallel to Jesus’ statement “My Will is more piercing than any sword; more than nails, thorns and scourges”: “the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow.” The Hebrews text and the entry’s claim are not merely analogous but structurally identical: the same divine penetrating word, the same all-seeing quality (“no creature is hidden from his sight”), the same capacity to reach what is most hidden in the soul. Hebrews 12:29 reinforces this from the other side: “our God is a consuming fire” — the same Light that transmits pains is the Fire that cannot be contained. Hebrews 12:29 governs the IAD-1’s compulsive-disclosure register as well: the love that is Fire cannot be banked.

The mechanism Colossians 1:24 governs is the VSC-1 application: Luisa’s suffering is the creaturely filling-up of what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions, transmitted not through external suffering but through the current of the Light — since her will and His are one, the current of light brought her His pains. Isaiah 53:5 (pierced for our transgressions) provides the underlying Christological ground: the pains being transmitted through the Light are the same piercing-and-crushing that bore the world’s offenses.

The Perpetual Crucified — ICW-1’s Most Physiologically Complete Form

Jesus discloses the mechanism of His own continuous suffering through the entry’s most theologically dense statement: “So did my Divinity operate in my Humanity. Its most pure Light brought Me pains at every breath, at every heartbeat, at every movement — into my whole Person… Its most pure Light crucified my most intimate fibers, my heartbeats of fire, and so It made of Me the perpetual Crucified — and not only in my hands and feet; rather, Its Light, scanning Me completely, crucified the most tiny particles of my Person.”

This is ICW-1’s most physiologically complete form. The December 26 form established the continuous dying of Jesus’ Humanity as its hardest martyrdom; the March 13 form names the anatomical precision: every breath, every heartbeat, every movement, every fiber, every particle — the crucifixion was not a single event but the structure of the entire Incarnation, executed at the molecular level of human bodily existence.

Hogan identifies this explicitly and precisely as “the revelation of the interior passion of Jesus that went on his whole life” — and connects it to the Hours of the Passion, which Luisa provides “piecemeal.” This pastoral context is theologically significant: the Hours of the Passion are the externalized form of what was happening continuously in the interior.

The Pauline kenotic tradition supplies the scriptural architecture both sources implicitly engage. Philippians 2:7-8 governs: the self-emptying (kenosis) that made Jesus’ humanity fully open to the Divinity’s operating corresponds to the perpetual crucifixion through the DW Light. The cross is not a terminal event appended to an otherwise normal life; it is the form of the entire Incarnation. Hebrews 5:7-8 fills in the temporal dimension: “in the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications… he learned obedience through what he suffered” — the entire span of bodily existence was the learning-through-suffering. 2 Corinthians 4:10-11 supplies the continuous-carrying language: “always carrying in the body the death of Jesus” — the death as a mode of existence, not a terminus. Romans 5:19 closes the circle: the “one man’s obedience” making many righteous is this continuous submission to the crucifying Light at every heartbeat — not a single act of historical obedience but the unbroken obedience of every breath.

Hogan’s observation — “the heartbeats of fire, because love when it reaches a certain level actually ignites” — is a precise gloss. The love that is fire (Hebrews 12:29; Song of Songs 8:6) and the pain that is crucifixion are the same divine action experienced from within the finite container.

Forward Bridge — The Time Will Come When the DW Manifests These Pains

Jesus names a forward bridge: creatures cannot receive this revelation now because they live at the level of the human will, but “the time will come when the Supreme Will, making Its way in the midst of creatures and making Itself understood more, will manifest the pains which my Eternal Will made my Humanity suffer.”

John 16:12-13 governs directly: “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth.” The phased disclosure pattern — truths the disciples could not yet bear, reserved for the Spirit’s guidance — corresponds to the entry’s logic precisely. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 adds the Spirit-revelation pattern: “what God has prepared for those who love him — these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit.” Romans 8:18 provides the comparative frame: what is revealed will reframe all present understanding of suffering. This is also a PHD-1 development: the disclosure-as-divine-longing form of February 20 is here extended — not just the writings coming to light but specifically the revelation of the interior passion as the content of the DW’s disclosure in the new era.

The Fusing in the DW — Ascending, Descending, and Living from Reflections

After Jesus disappears, Luisa finds herself submerged in the Divine Will, experiencing the contrasts — littleness and divine greatness, misery and divine riches, ugliness and eternal Beauty — and carrying all Creation to God’s feet while ascending and descending continuously.

Both sources identify John 1:51 (angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man) as the governing scriptural image of this movement, and both identify it promptly. Stage One adds Genesis 28:12-13, the Jacob’s ladder archetype that Jesus reappropriates in John 1:51: the ladder from earth to heaven on which the angels ascend and descend is the DW itself, and the soul fusing in it follows the same movement. The ascending is to bring; the descending is to gather; the soul in the DW is the human participant in the angelic continuum of mediation.

Both sources identify 2 Corinthians 3:18 for “living from the reflections of God” — the transformative beholding of the divine glory that shapes the soul into the divine image. Stage One adds Psalm 36:9 (“in your light do we see light”) for the epistemological dimension: the soul who lives from God’s reflections has no other light by which to see. Romans 11:36 governs the carrying of Creation: “from him and through him and to him are all things” — the DW soul’s ascending to bring all generations is the creaturely enactment of the “to him” movement. Both sources identify John 7:37-39 (rivers of living water) for the soul drawing so much love as to love God for all — the DW soul as the channel through which the river of divine love flows outward to all creation.

The DW Soul Embellished and Enlarged — “The Soul Becomes That Which We Are by Nature”

Both sources converge on the deification language: “by virtue of our Will, the soul becomes that which We are by nature.” Hogan cites Psalm 82:6 (“I said you are gods”) and Psalm 8 (“little less than a god”) as the scriptural witnesses. Stage One’s most decisive addition is 2 Peter 1:4 — “partakers of the divine nature” — as the doctrinal statement of what the entry names experientially: the theōsis formula. The entry’s “becomes that which We are by nature” is 2 Peter 1:4 at its strongest: not merely sharing in divine attributes but becoming, by participation and virtue of the DW, what God is essentially. Colossians 1:19 supplies the overflow image: the fullness of God that in Christ is hypostatic becomes in the DW soul participatory and overflowing — “We fill her so much as to make her overflow, forming divine rivers and seas around her.”

Both sources also identify Ephesians 2:10 (God’s work of art) for the embellishing and enriching movement. Hogan’s development of this is the most vivid in her commentary: the soul cannot tell God which color to use, because the dark colors are absolutely necessary for the bright ones to show — the trials and pains are the artist’s essential palette. This is a pastorally precise reading that has a sound biblical grounding: the creature is the canvas; the Maker is working the image; the creature’s only task is not to resist the scanning.

The Creative Word Repeated — Recreation in the Divine Image

The entry’s final word is Jesus’ invitation: live in the pure Light of the DW, “if you want your Jesus to repeat again that word which He said in creating man: ‘By virtue of Our Will, let Us make this soul in Our Image and Likeness.‘” This is Genesis 1:26 repeated — the original creative word spoken not over humanity in general but over the individual soul who lives in the DW.

Genesis 1:26-27 governs directly: the original creative act’s word is the word to be repeated. Romans 8:29 supplies the predestination-frame: those foreknown are predestined to be conformed to the image of the Son — the conformity is not optional or accidental but the purpose for which the soul was known before creation. Colossians 3:10 completes the thought: the new self renewed after the image of the Creator is the DW soul in whom the creative word is being repeated in real time. The recreation is not a second act of creation but the first act’s fulfillment.

Synthesis

The dominant biblical imagination at work in this entry is the Johannine light-and-love identification (1 John 1:5; 1 John 4:7) applied through the kenotic-Christological tradition (Philippians 2:7-8; Hebrews 5:7-8; 2 Corinthians 4:10-11) toward the deification telos (2 Peter 1:4; Genesis 1:26; 2 Corinthians 3:18). The entry moves through three theological registers: the divine love that must disclose everything (true-love axiom); the divine light that transmits everything through the DW (pain-mechanism); and the divine creative act that is repeated in the soul who lives in the DW (image-recreation). These three registers are the same reality viewed from different angles: the love that cannot withhold, the light that carries everything, and the creative word that remakes — all are the Divine Will operating in the soul who has given it full entry.

The scriptural traditions most load-bearing are: (1) the kenotic-Christological tradition (Philippians 2; Hebrews 5; 2 Corinthians 4), which establishes that the perpetual crucifixion of Jesus’ Humanity is not an exceptional event but the form of the Incarnation itself — governing ICW-1’s most complete form; (2) the Johannine light-and-love complex (1 John; John 1:51; John 7:37-39), which supplies the mechanism of the DW Light’s transmission and the soul’s role as the channel; (3) the deification tradition (2 Peter 1:4; Genesis 1:26-27; 2 Corinthians 3:18), which frames the entire entry’s telos: the soul who lives in the DW is the soul in whom the creative word is being spoken again.

Three findings from the combined analysis carry the most theological significance. First, the true-love-hides-nothing axiom is disclosed as the theological ground of IAD-1: the divine longing that goes unreturned, the joys sent back in grief, the tears brought seeking solace — all of these are now explained by a structural necessity in the nature of love itself (John 15:13-15; Song of Songs 8:6-7; 1 John 4:7). Second, the perpetual Crucified form of ICW-1 is the most anatomically complete yet — every breath, every heartbeat, every particle, at every moment of the Incarnation — governed by the kenotic architecture of Philippians 2:7-8 and 2 Corinthians 4:10-11: the cross is the form of the entire Incarnation, not its climactic conclusion. Third, the convergence of both sources on 2 Corinthians 3:18 (reflections as transformative beholding) and the combined Psalm 82:6 / 2 Peter 1:4 deification structure confirms that the entry’s final word — “let Us make this soul in Our Image and Likeness” — is not an aspiration but the completion of what the DW has been continuously accomplishing throughout.

ICW-1 update — molecular-crucifixion / perpetual-Crucified form: “Its most pure Light brought Me pains at every breath, at every heartbeat, at every movement — into my whole Person… Its most pure Light crucified my most intimate fibers, my heartbeats of fire, and so It made of Me the perpetual Crucified — and not only in my hands and feet; rather, Its Light, scanning Me completely, crucified the most tiny particles of my Person.” This is ICW-1’s most physiologically complete form. The December 26 register established the continuous dying of Jesus’ Humanity as its hardest martyrdom; this register names the anatomical precision — every breath, every heartbeat, every movement, every fiber, every particle. The cross is the form of the entire Incarnation, not its terminal event. Hogan explicitly identifies this as “the revelation of the interior passion of Jesus that went on his whole life.” Philippians 2:7-8, Hebrews 5:7-8, and 2 Corinthians 4:10-11 govern.

IAD-1 update — true-love-axiom / compulsive-disclosure form: “True love can hide nothing to the beloved — either joys or pains. For one sorrowful thought, for one fiber of the heart, which it hides and does not pour into the beloved, it feels as though separated from her, discontent, restless.” This is IAD-1’s most theologically axiomatic form: not a description of Jesus’ particular longing for Luisa but a definition of the structure of true love itself, and therefore of the necessity undergirding all prior IAD-1 registers. The IAD exists because divine love has a structural inability to withhold. 1 John 4:7-8, John 15:13-15, and Song of Songs 8:6-7 govern.

AJD-1 update — soul-becomes-what-We-are-by-nature / participatory-deification form: “by virtue of our Will, the soul becomes that which We are by nature.” This is AJD-1’s most complete participatory-deification statement in Volume 16: not merely structural indistinguishability of works (October 30, 1923) or joint-subject/first-person-plural identification (February 5, 1924), but ontological participation — the soul becomes, by virtue of the DW, what God is by nature. 2 Peter 1:4 and Psalm 82:6 govern.

PHD-1 forward bridge — interior-passion-manifestation: “the time will come when the Supreme Will, making Its way in the midst of creatures and making Itself understood more, will manifest the pains which my Eternal Will made my Humanity suffer.” The content of the DW’s eventual disclosure includes specifically the interior passion of Jesus’ Humanity — the perpetual crucifixion through the DW Light at every breath and heartbeat. This is PHD-1’s disclosure-dimension applied not to the writings but to the doctrinal content the writings contain. John 16:12-13 governs.
