12-1917-12-12 Biblical Resonance Analysis
Volume 12 — December 12, 1917 “How the sun is a simile of the acts done in the Divine Will.”
STAGE ONE — INDEPENDENT BIBLICAL IDENTIFICATION
Movement 1: The Solar Simile — Bounded Form, Unbounded Extension
“Look up and you will see the sun — a circle of light, with its limits and its shape. But the light which comes from this sun, from within the limits of its circle, fills the earth and extends everywhere — not in a round shape, but wherever it finds earth, mountains, seas to illuminate and to invest with its heat; so much so, that with the majesty of its light, with the beneficial influence of its heat, and by investing everyone, the sun becomes the king of all planets, and holds supremacy over all created things.”
Psalm 19:4–6 — “Their voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, which is as a bridegroom coming out of his room, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. His going out is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends. There is nothing hidden from its heat.” The sun’s circuit from end to end of the heavens, investing everything with its heat, with nothing hidden from it — this is the most direct OT precedent for the solar simile Jesus draws: the sun’s bounded circle (its circuit) producing light that extends to the end of the heavens and heat that nothing escapes. Typological
Malachi 4:2 — “But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out and leap like calves of the stall.” The sun of righteousness with healing — the solar image deployed theologically as the form of divine beneficence; the entry’s solar simile for DW acts draws on this tradition: as the sun of righteousness rises with healing for all, the DW act extends light and heat to all. Direct doctrinal parallel
John 1:4–5 — “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.” The light that shines everywhere without being overcome — the simile’s emphasis on the sun extending “wherever it finds earth, mountains, seas to illuminate” is this Johannine principle: light is constitutively omnidirectional, finding every surface that does not obstruct it. Typological
Wisdom 7:26 — “For she is a reflection of everlasting light, an unspotted mirror of the working of God, and an image of his goodness.” Wisdom as “a reflection of eternal light” — the solar tradition in which the DW act participates: the light that is divine in its source, extended through the soul-in-Will as Wisdom extends eternal light through the world. Typological
Movement 2: The Act’s Transformation — Small and Limited Becoming Immense
“In doing her act, the creature makes it small and limited, but as it enters into my Will, it becomes immense, it invests all, it gives light and heat to all, it reigns over all, it acquires supremacy over all the other acts of creatures — it has right over all.”
Zechariah 4:10 — “Indeed, who despises the day of small things? For these seven shall rejoice, and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. These are the LORD’s eyes, which run back and forth through the whole earth.” The small things vindicated — the entry’s explicit “what do I care if they are small?” draws on this prophetic logic: the day of small things is the day the divine builds through what the human eye discounts. Affective/meditative
Mark 4:31–32 — “It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, yet when it is sown, grows up and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.” The smallest seed producing the largest plant — the governing parabolic form for the act that is small in itself but immense in the Will: the smallness is its creaturely measure; the immensity is the divine principle operating in it. Direct doctrinal parallel
2 Corinthians 4:7 — “But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves.” The surpassing power in the fragile vessel — the small creaturely act (jar of clay) containing the treasure (the Will’s immensity); the transformation is possible precisely because the smallness of the act makes clear that the power is entirely God’s. Direct doctrinal parallel
Ephesians 3:20 — “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” The power at work within the act doing far more than what appears externally — the act enters the Will and “undergoes an incredible transformation” precisely through the power that Ephesians names as working from within, exceeding all creaturely measure. Direct doctrinal parallel
Luke 17:6 — “The Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.” The tiny act possessing universal efficacy when animated by the divine principle — the simile’s “it reigns over all, it acquires supremacy over all other acts” is the faith-as-mustard-seed logic extended to the Will-act: the smallest act in the Will has authority over what no creaturely quantity outside the Will could accomplish. Affective/meditative
Movement 3: Angels Unable to Comprehend — The Supremacy of the DW Act
“Yet, her act is small, but by doing it in my Will, it went through an incredible transformation, which not even Angels are allowed to comprehend. I alone can measure the just value of these acts done in my Will.”
Psalm 8:5–6 — “For you have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor. You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet:” The human being placed below the angels yet crowned with a dominion that encompasses all created things — the entry inverts the angelic-superiority assumption: the angels cannot comprehend the DW act precisely because it exceeds the creaturely order within which they have full comprehension; the “little lower than angels” creature acquires through the Will a supremacy over all created things that the angels themselves cannot measure. Direct doctrinal parallel
1 Corinthians 6:3 — “Don’t you know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?” The startling Pauline claim of the saints’ authority in relation to angels — the DW acts’ incomprehensibility to angels is the present form of this asymmetry: the saint operating in the Will exercises an influence that surpasses angelic comprehension, because it operates within the divine Will itself rather than within the creaturely order. Direct doctrinal parallel
Romans 8:37 — “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” “More than conquerors” — the Greek hypernikōmen, more-than-overcoming: “she rules, she dominates, she conquers” is the experiential content of what Paul names hyperbolically as the creaturely status in Christ. The supremacy acquired through the Will is the “more than conquering” through the one who loved us. Direct doctrinal parallel
Revelation 2:26–27 — “He who overcomes, and he who keeps my works to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations. He will rule them with a rod of iron, shattering them like clay pots, as I also have received of my Father;” The authority given to the conqueror — “she rules, she dominates, she conquers” and “acquires supremacy over all the other acts of creatures” is the present form of the eschatological authority promised to the one who keeps the works of the Lord to the end. Typological
Movement 4: Triumph, Outpouring, Fulfillment — Repaid for Creation Itself
“They are the triumph of my Glory, the outpouring of my Love, the fulfillment of Redemption; and I feel as though repaid for Creation itself.”
Isaiah 43:7 — “everyone who is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory, whom I have formed, yes, whom I have made.’” Created for the divine glory — the DW act is the “triumph of my Glory” because it fulfills the purpose for which creatures were made: the human being called by the divine Name, formed for the divine glory, operates at last in the mode for which creation was designed. Direct doctrinal parallel
Ephesians 1:6, 12, 14 (translation pending) — “to the praise of his glorious grace… to the praise of his glory… to the praise of his glory.” The threefold Pauline doxology framing the entire divine economy as ordered to the praise of God’s glory — the DW acts fulfill this order in its most immediate form: each act done in the Will is a “praise of his glorious grace” because it is the act of the Will itself glorifying itself through the willing creature. Direct doctrinal parallel
Ephesians 3:21 — “to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Glory given in the church throughout all generations — the DW act is this glory’s most concentrated and explicit form, extending through all generations (as the November 27 entry named: “to all generations and to all times”). Direct doctrinal parallel
Romans 11:36 — “For of him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen.” The complete arc of all things — from him (Creation), through him (Redemption), to him (Return/Glory): the DW act effects the “to him” dimension, the return of all things. “I feel as though repaid for Creation itself” is the experiential form of what Romans 11:36 names as the cosmic telos: the return of all things to their source through the creature who has placed herself in the Will. Direct doctrinal parallel
Isaiah 53:11 — “After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.” The Servant satisfied by seeing the fruit of his anguish — “I feel as though repaid for Creation itself” is the divine satisfaction that Isaiah names as the outcome of the Passion; the DW acts produce the satisfaction that makes God feel repaid precisely because they are the fruit of the anguish, the fulfillment of the Servant’s work. Direct doctrinal parallel
Hebrews 10:14 — “For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.” The single offering whose perfecting is ongoing through the sanctified — the “fulfillment of Redemption” through the DW acts is this: the DW soul operating in the Will extends the single offering’s perfecting work through every moment and to every creature, constituting the ongoing fulfillment of what the offering opened. Direct doctrinal parallel
Revelation 4:11 — “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory, the honor, and the power, for you created all things, and because of your desire they existed and were created!” Creation as an act of the Will ordered to the reception of glory — “I feel as though repaid for Creation itself” is the fulfillment of what the heavenly doxology names as Creation’s ground and purpose: all things created by his will now return glory to him through the will-acts of those who live in the Will. Typological
STAGE TWO — COMPARISON WITH HOGAN’S COMMENTARY
CORRESPONDENCES
- Malachi 4:2 / Matthew 13:43 — both streams implicitly identify the solar tradition (EAG-1) as the governing theological context; Hogan receives the solar simile within this tradition without explicitly citing but acknowledging its doctrinal weight

ADDITIONS — HERS

Angelic-incomprehension theology — Satan’s refusal and DW surrender: Hogan supplies the most theologically developed interpretation of “not even angels are allowed to comprehend.” The incomprehension is connected to Satan’s original refusal to serve lower beings: the angels were created as pure spiritual beings and given one decisive choice; Satan refused to serve those he perceived as lower (flesh-and-spirit humans). The good angels, who did serve, still cannot comprehend the enormity of the gift given to humans who surrender to the Will — because we participate with Christ in redemption despite being “little nobodies struggling from our own defective past.” The gap between what we are naturally and what we become in the Will is so vast that even the angels who agreed to minister to us cannot grasp it.
-
“Each one becomes a little co-redeemer”: Hogan’s most compact formulation of the VSC-1 dimension of the “fulfillment of Redemption” — the DW acts complete what Redemption opened by making each DW soul a co-redeemer in Christ’s pattern. This is simultaneously the AJD-1 principle (another-Jesus doing the redemptive work) and the VSC-1 principle (victim-soul causality extending through the DW act’s supremacy).
-
Demonic envy as the inverse of DW surrender: “We who surrender to the divine will are serving everybody; we don’t ask who they are, we don’t ask what religion they have, we don’t ask whether they’re worthy or unworthy.” The DW soul’s universal service without discrimination is the precise inversion of Satan’s discriminatory refusal — the supremacy of the DW acts over all other creaturely acts is the eschatological vindication of the surrender Satan refused.
VIP / SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS
VIP confirmed. Hogan applies an explicit vip marker: “you can see that this is a VIP vip very important message because it’s really explaining acts so clearly.” The designation covers the entire entry — the solar simile and its application to DW acts, culminating in the “triumph of Glory, outpouring of Love, fulfillment of Redemption, repaid for Creation.”
STAGE TWO SYNTHESIS
The entry’s dominant scriptural tradition is the solar corpus (Psalm 19:4–6; Malachi 4:2; Matthew 13:43; John 1:4–5) and the small-becoming-immense parabolic tradition (Mark 4:31–32; Luke 17:6; Zechariah 4:10; 2 Corinthians 4:7) together with the final-repayment theology (Romans 11:36; Isaiah 53:11; Revelation 4:11). Stage One constructs the full scriptural infrastructure for what Hogan receives pastorally but does not anchor scripturally. The most analytically significant contribution is Hogan’s angelic-incomprehension theology — supplying the doctrinal reason for “not even angels are allowed to comprehend”: the enormity of the gift given to defective human creatures who surrender to the Will so exceeds the angelic frame of reference that even those who minister to humans cannot measure it. The “repaid for Creation itself” is the entry’s most theologically audacious claim and receives its full scriptural grounding only through Romans 11:36 (the cosmic from-through-to arc returning to God through the Will-acts) and Revelation 4:11 (Creation as an act of the Will ordered to receiving glory, now finally returning that glory through the DW acts).
Cross-Entry Synthesis
Volume 12 — December 12, 1917 “How the sun is a simile of the acts done in the Divine Will.”
VIP designated by Hogan.
Movement 1: The Solar Simile — Bounded Form, Unbounded Extension
This entry is the corpus’s most focused and complete deployment of the EAG-1 solar theology applied specifically to the mechanism of DW acts rather than to the soul’s identity or eschatological vocation. Prior EAG-1 entries described what the soul becomes (a sun, a second sun on earth); this entry describes how the act operates analogously to the sun — beginning within limits and extending to everything.
Psalm 19:4–6 (Stage One) is the most structurally precise OT predecessor: the sun’s circuit from end to end of the heavens, with nothing hidden from its heat, the sun investing all with its light through the freedom of its extension beyond its own circular form. The simile Jesus draws is almost a doctrinal commentary on Psalm 19: the sun is a circle of light (Psalm 19: “its circuit”), but its light extends wherever it finds a surface to illuminate (Psalm 19: “its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them; there is nothing hidden from its heat”). Malachi 4:2 (Stage One) supplies the theological identification of the solar image with the divine blessing operating through the Will: the sun of righteousness rising with healing is the source-image of which the DW act is the creaturely participation.
John 1:4–5 (Stage One) provides the Johannine theological ground for the unbounded extension: the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it — the DW act’s extension “wherever it finds earth, mountains, seas to illuminate” is this constitutive omnidirectionality of light, which reaches everything that does not positively obstruct it.
Movement 2: The Act’s Transformation — Small and Limited Becoming Immense
“Her act is small, but by doing it in my Will, it went through an incredible transformation.” The transformation is the entry’s doctrinal center: the creaturely dimension of the act (small, limited, bounded) does not disappear — “the creature makes it small and limited” — but the Will-dimension produces an immensity incommensurable with the act’s creaturely scale.
Stage One’s parabolic tradition (Mark 4:31–32: mustard seed becoming the largest plant; Luke 17:6: mustard-seed faith commanding trees) provides the governing parabolic form: the smallness is the creaturely measure; the immensity is the divine principle operating in it. 2 Corinthians 4:7 (Stage One: treasure in jars of clay) names the relationship precisely — the “surpassing power belongs to God and not to us,” which means the small act’s immensity is not a transformation of the act’s creaturely nature but of what operates through it. Ephesians 3:20 (Stage One: “far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us”) names the operative power as the power at work within — the Will working through the act from inside.
Zechariah 4:10 (Stage One) provides the OT prophetic vindication of the small act: “whoever has despised the day of small things shall rejoice” — the entry’s “what do I care if they are small?” is this prophetic vindication applied directly. The small act in the Will is the “day of small things” that produces rejoicing because the Will has invested it with the divine immensity.
Movement 3: Angels Unable to Comprehend — The Supremacy of the DW Act
“Not even Angels are allowed to comprehend. I alone can measure the just value.” Hogan’s angelic-incomprehension theology is the analytically decisive contribution for this movement. The incomprehensibility is not arbitrary but follows from the nature of what the DW act is: a defective human creature’s small act, passing through the divine Will, becoming the repayment for Creation itself. The good angels cannot comprehend this because even they, who have always served humans, cannot grasp the asymmetry — that we, who are less than they are naturally, receive the gift of participating with Christ in redemption. The gap between what we are and what we become in the Will exceeds angelic comprehension.
Stage One’s Psalm 8:5–6 (the human being “a little lower than the heavenly beings” yet “crowned with glory and honor… given dominion over the works of your hands”) provides the scriptural precedent for this paradox: the creature below angels yet given a dominion that encompasses all created things. 1 Corinthians 6:3 (Stage One: “we are to judge angels”) is the most explicit Pauline statement of the asymmetry that makes angelic incomprehension intelligible: the saints’ ultimate authority in relation to angels is the eschatological form of what the DW act exercises in its temporal form — supremacy over all created acts, including those of the angels. Romans 8:37 (Stage One: hypernikōmen, “more than conquerors”) names the quality of the supremacy precisely: not merely conquering but more-than-conquering, which is categorically beyond what ordinary conquest achieves.
Movement 4: Triumph, Outpouring, Fulfillment — Repaid for Creation Itself
The entry’s closing triad — “triumph of my Glory, outpouring of my Love, fulfillment of Redemption” — maps the DW act onto the three great works: Glory (the purpose of Creation), Love (the nature of God expressed in Creation), Redemption (the recovery of what Creation lost). The DW act is simultaneously: the glory-triumph that Creation was designed to produce; the love-outpouring that Creation expressed but which sin obstructed; and the Redemption-completion that the Passion opened but the DW acts bring to ongoing fulfillment.
Stage One supplies the full scriptural grounding for each dimension. Isaiah 43:7 (created for divine glory) and Ephesians 1:6, 12, 14 (the threefold doxology) anchor the glory-triumph. Romans 11:36 (“from him and through him and to him are all things”) provides the cosmic arc: the DW acts effect the “to him” — the return of all things — which is the completion of the arc that began with Creation’s “from him.” Romans 11:36 is the most precise anchor for “I feel as though repaid for Creation itself”: the act that returns all things to their source through the Will is the act that fulfills what Creation was initiated to achieve.
“I feel as though repaid for Creation itself” — Isaiah 53:11 (Stage One: the Servant satisfied by seeing the fruit of his anguish) is the Passion-level precedent: the satisfaction that made the Servant’s anguish worthwhile. The DW acts produce the satisfaction at a different level — not merely the Passion’s fruit but the fruit of Creation’s originary act of love, now returned through the Will-acts of creatures who have surrendered entirely to the Will. Revelation 4:11 (Stage One: “by your will they existed and were created”) provides the Christological capstone: Creation as an act of the Will ordered to receiving glory, now completed when the creatures who were created by his will return glory through acts done in his Will.
Hogan’s “each one becomes a little co-redeemer” is the most compact VSC-1/AJD-1 synthesis for the “fulfillment of Redemption” clause: the DW soul is simultaneously another-Jesus (AJD-1) exercising the co-redemptive causality (VSC-1) through which Redemption reaches its ongoing completion. The three terms of the triad — Glory, Love, Redemption — name the three dimensions in which this is so: the co-redeemer completes the glory for which humanity was created, expresses the love whose outpouring Creation was, and extends the redemption whose single offering opened an inexhaustible participation.
Synthesis
Dominant biblical imagination: The solar corpus (Psalm 19; Malachi 4:2; Matthew 13:43; John 1:4–5) and the small-becoming-immense parabolic tradition (Mark 4:31–32; 2 Corinthians 4:7; Ephesians 3:20) together with the cosmic-return theology (Romans 11:36; Revelation 4:11; Isaiah 53:11).
Most load-bearing scriptural traditions: (1) Psalm 19:4–6 as the most structurally precise OT analogue to the solar simile — the sun’s circuit investing all with heat, with nothing hidden from it. (2) Romans 11:36 as the anchor for “repaid for Creation itself” — the from-through-to arc returning all things to God through the Will-acts. (3) Hogan’s angelic-incomprehension theology grounding the “not even angels are allowed to comprehend” through Psalm 8:5–6 and 1 Corinthians 6:3 — the creature below angels yet given a Will-supremacy that exceeds angelic comprehension.
Three findings of highest theological significance: First, the solar simile as the most complete single-entry EAG-1 disclosure in the corpus — not the soul’s identity as a sun (prior EAG-1 registers) but the act’s solar mechanics: bounded origin, unbounded extension, investing all with light and heat, acquiring supremacy as the sun is king of all planets. The mechanism is now fully named. Second, the “repaid for Creation itself” — the most comprehensive scope claim for the DW act in the corpus: not merely repaying for the Passion’s cost or the creatures’ debts but for the originary act of Creation, whose purpose was the return of all things to God through acts done in his Will. Third, the “not even angels are allowed to comprehend” clause: Hogan’s theology of demonic envy and angelic incomprehension discloses why the DW act’s supremacy is structurally invisible to the angels — the gap between what we are naturally (below angels) and what we become in the Will (exercising a supremacy angels cannot measure) is the eschatological reversal that 1 Corinthians 6:3 names as the saints judging angels, now operative in the present moment through the small act done in the Will.

VIP confirmed — number TBD: Hogan applies an explicit vip marker: “you can see that this is a VIP vip very important message because it’s really explaining acts so clearly.” The designation covers the full entry — the solar simile and its application to DW acts through “triumph of Glory, outpouring of Love, fulfillment of Redemption, repaid for Creation.” Sequential number TBD pending resolution of outstanding candidates.
EAG-1 — Solar-mechanics apex: most complete single-entry disclosure in corpus: The entire entry is structured around the solar simile applied to the mechanism of DW acts — not the soul’s identity as a sun (prior EAG-1) but the act’s solar mechanics: bounded origin (the circle of light), unbounded extension (to earth, mountains, seas), universal investing with light and heat, acquired supremacy as the sun is king of all planets. Psalm 19:4–6 (Stage One) is the most structurally precise OT analogue. This is EAG-1’s most complete and focused single-entry disclosure in the corpus. The act-mechanics complement the soul-identity registers established in Volumes 11–12.
Repaid-for-Creation claim — new doctrinal register: “I feel as though repaid for Creation itself.” The most comprehensive scope claim for the DW act in the corpus: not merely repaying for the Passion’s cost or for creaturely debts, but for the originary cost of Creation. Romans 11:36 (the from-through-to arc returning all things to God) and Revelation 4:11 (Creation as an act of the Will ordered to receiving glory) supply the scriptural ground. This may constitute a new ELG-1 or ECA-1 register — monitor for further deployment.
