Union-Value Measure
The doctrine that the value of any sacrifice is determined not by the sacrifice’s magnitude but by the love and union with Christ animating it — the soul united with Christ receives “eternal measure” without limit (1 Corinthians 2:9; Ephesians 3:17-19) because union transforms the soul from laboring servant to adopted son (Romans 8:14-17; Galatians 4:1-7: heir, not slave), while the soul who sacrifices greatly without union receives only fair but limited contractual remuneration (1 Corinthians 13:1-3: without love, giving all profits nothing); union with the vine is what gives the branch’s actions their eternal fruitfulness (John 15:4-5).
