Love-Will Relational Ontology
The VIP doctrine that love and the Divine Will stand in an ontological parent-firstborn relationship — love is pure only when conformed to the Will (Psalm 85:10: mercy and righteousness kiss; 1 Peter 1:22: purification through obedience); love is safe only when enclosed within the Will, restoring the Edenic enclosure the Fall violated (Genesis 2:15-17; John 15:9-10); the Will governs love by moderating excess, nourishing weakness, and spurring sluggishness; and love is “nothing but the firstborn child of my Will,” generated by and subordinate to the Will even within the divine nature (Colossians 1:15: firstborn of all creation; Proverbs 8:22-23: Wisdom as the firstborn of divine acts; 1 John 4:8: God is love — love is divine yet the Will has generative priority).
