Cross as Incarnation
The doctrine that the Cross is the completion and consummation of the Incarnation: what the Incarnation established by taking flesh (Hebrews 10:5-7: “a body you have prepared for me”), the Cross seals in total self-offering; the union produced — “you in me and I in you” (John 14:20-21) — is the Cross’s fruit, which no power can separate from the soul (Romans 8:35-39).
