35-1937-09-12 Biblical Resonance Analysis

Volume 35 — September 12, 1937 “How these Truths are the Greatest Gift that God gives to us. Divine Birth. Fidgets and delirium to see us Possessors of His Gifts. Outpouring of Love: His Word. The Great Good of one act done in His Divine Will.”

Stage One — Independent Biblical Identification

The Divine Will as Narrator: Littleness Dissolved in the DW

“Your littleness remains dissolved inside My Will. You are not the one who has to manifest her Truths, but My Will Itself will take the task of narrating all that It wants to make them known. It will Invest your mind; It will make Itself small on your lips, and It will make Itself known for Who It really is. You surely cannot do it by yourself, but if you place your will into Ours We will fix everything.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 — “He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me.” “Your littleness remains dissolved inside My Will” — the divine narrating-power flowing precisely through acknowledged creaturely smallness, the dissolution of littleness into the DW being the condition for the DW to make itself known through the creature. Direct doctrinal parallel

Jeremiah 1:6–9 — “Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I don’t know how to speak; for I am a child.” But the LORD said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I am a child;’ for you must go to whomever I send you, and you must say whatever I command you. Don’t be afraid because of them, for I am with you to rescue you,” says the LORD. Then the LORD stretched out his hand and touched my mouth. Then the LORD said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.”I am only a youth”… I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.‘” Luisa’s “I won’t be able to say them all” and Jesus’s response — “if you place your will into Ours We will fix everything” — corresponds exactly to the prophetic commissioning pattern: the creature’s incapacity acknowledged, then overridden by the divine supply. Typological

1 Corinthians 2:4–5 — “My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” The DW narrating through the creature’s littleness — the power not in human eloquence but in God’s Spirit working through the vessel’s acknowledged smallness. Direct doctrinal parallel

Exodus 4:10–12 — “I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.” The LORD said to him, … I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.” The DW making itself word on the creature’s lips corresponds to the divine promise to Moses: the human mouth is insufficient; the divine supply makes it the vehicle of the divine word. Typological

Truth Matured in the Womb of the Divinity: Divine Pregnancy, Birth-Pangs, and Delivery

“when We want to do Good to the creatures, or to reveal a Truth… first We mature it within the Womb of Our Divinity. Then, when We can no longer contain it, because Our Love is such that It wants to see the creatures possessing that Gift—to the extent of becoming fidgety and delirious and even of making Us languish for desire… We find Ourselves in the painful conditions of a poor mother who, once her pregnancy comes to term, feels as though she would die if she didn’t deliver her baby into daylight… when We find one who receives It, We confirm the Gift—We make a feast, feeling Victorious… Our Baby delivered with so much Love, being received by one single creature, will go around to all the creatures, and by Its Generative Virtue It will Regenerate many other Births, filling the whole world.”

Isaiah 66:9 — “Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to be delivered?” says the LORD. “Shall I who cause to give birth shut the womb?” says your God.” The divine birth that must be completed — “if We don’t deliver to the light the Good to which We want to give Birth, Our Love reaches such Excesses” — corresponds to the prophetic rhetorical question: the God who brings to the point of birth cannot and will not shut the womb, because the Good must be delivered. Direct doctrinal parallel

John 16:21 — “A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.” The labor-sorrow turning to victory-joy: “when We find one who receives It, We confirm the Gift—We make a feast, feeling Victorious” — the painful conditions of delivery reversed into the joy of accomplished birth. Direct doctrinal parallel

Galatians 4:19 — “My little children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—” The apostolic form of the divine birth-pangs: Paul’s anguish of childbirth until the gift is received corresponds to the divine pregnancy’s urgency until the creature receives. The entry takes the image Paul uses for himself and locates it in God: the divine love in the anguish of childbirth until Truth-as-gift is received. Affective/meditative

Proverbs 8:22–25 — “The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed. When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born;” Lady Wisdom brought forth from God’s own depths before creation — the maturation of Wisdom/Truth within the divine being before its delivery to the world corresponds to “first We mature it within the Womb of Our Divinity.” Typological

Isaiah 49:1 — “Listen, islands, to me. Listen, you peoples, from afar: the LORD has called me from the womb; from the inside of my mother, he has mentioned my name.” The Servant called and formed within the womb before being sent — the gift matured within the divine womb and then delivered corresponds to the Servant-formation pattern. Typological

Luke 1:41–44 — “When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She called out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! Why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the voice of your greeting came into my ears, the baby leaped in my womb for joy!” The reception of the gift — “when We find one who receives It, We confirm the Gift — We make a feast” — corresponds to John’s leap at Mary’s greeting: the one who receives the delivered gift recognizes it with joy that cannot contain itself. Typological

John 12:24 — “Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.” “Our Baby delivered with so much Love, being received by one single creature, will go around to all the creatures, and by Its Generative Virtue It will Regenerate many other Births, filling the whole world” — the seed received by one bearing much fruit through its generative virtue. Direct doctrinal parallel

The Word as Outpouring of Love: A Chain of Love-Outpourings

“each Word is an Outpouring of Our Love to the creature. So, every Word that We have already said on Our Divine Will is Love that We’ve poured out… This unleashing of Our Love fills Heaven and earth, invests all, and embalms all sufferings; It becomes the day in the night of guilt, converting sinners, straightening one who is limping in the good, strengthening the good ones. In sum, there is no Good that a Word of Our Outpouring of Love cannot do… letting Us speak is the Greatest Good that can be done for the creatures.”

John 1:14 — “The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.” “Each Word is an Outpouring of Our Love to the creature” — the Incarnation of the Word is the supreme Love-Outpouring, and every divine word spoken in the DW carries that same incarnational quality: the Word making itself small on the creature’s lips, filling itself into the vessel of creaturely language. Christological/Trinitarian

John 6:63 — “It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.” “In sum, there is no Good that a Word of Our Outpouring of Love cannot do… it is giving a Divine Life to the creatures” — the words that are spirit-and-life are precisely the Love-Outpourings that the entry names as the greatest Good. Direct doctrinal parallel

Psalm 107:20 — “He sends his word, and heals them, and delivers them from their graves.” “In sum, there is no Good that a Word of Our Outpouring of Love cannot do” — the sent word that heals and delivers is the scriptural archetype of the inexhaustible Good in each divine word. Direct doctrinal parallel

Isaiah 9:2 — “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light. The light has shined on those who lived in the land of the shadow of death.” “It becomes the day in the night of guilt, converting sinners” — the Love-Outpouring as the great light breaking into darkness, the eschatological dawn in the night of sin. Typological

Romans 10:14–15 — “And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?… How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” “letting Us speak is the Greatest Good that can be done for the creatures” — the preached word-of-love as the precondition for faith; the DW-creature receiving and transmitting the Love-Outpouring performs the most beautiful function in the human family. Direct doctrinal parallel

Hebrews 4:12 — “For the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” “What can one of Our Words not do? It can do all” — the word that is living and active, that discerns the innermost depths, is the word that can do all. Direct doctrinal parallel

Isaiah 60:1–2 — “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the LORD’s glory has risen on you! For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.” The Love-Outpouring as the rising light — “It becomes the day in the night of guilt” corresponds to this Isaianic dawn of glory over the earth. Typological

Luisa’s Round in Creation: The Vault as Shared Roof and Pavement

“I continued my round in the Creation, to trace the Acts done by the Divine Volition and make them mine… I was wandering around in the blue vault, thinking to myself: ‘This Heaven serves as a vault for the residents of the earth, and as a pavement for the Celestial Residents… all have the duty to adore the One who, with so much Love, Created this Celestial Vault to give to us.’ So I called all the Angels, the Saints and all the residents of the earth with me, so that all would return Love, adoration, glory and thanksgiving to our Creator.”

Psalm 19:1 — “For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork.” The blue vault as the created declaration of divine glory — “all have the duty to adore the One who, with so much Love, Created this Celestial Vault.” The vault’s function (roof for earth, pavement for heaven) means every creature shares the obligation to praise its Maker. Direct doctrinal parallel

Psalm 148:1–6 — “Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise him in the heights! Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all his army! Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars! Praise him, you heavens of heavens, you waters that are above the heavens. Let them praise the LORD’s name, for he commanded, and they were created. He has also established them forever and ever. He has made a decree which will not pass away.” “I called all the Angels, the Saints and all the residents of the earth with me” — the Psalm’s comprehensive call to cosmic praise is what Luisa enacts in her DW round, gathering the creatures of both regions (vault-as-pavement above, vault-as-roof below) into one act of adoration. Direct doctrinal parallel

Psalm 103:20–22 (translation pending) — “Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding… Bless the LORD, all his works, in all places of his dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!” The structure of Luisa’s round: calling all created beings (angels, saints, earth’s residents) to return love, adoration, glory, and thanksgiving — the Psalm’s “all his works, in all places” gathered into one DW act. Direct doctrinal parallel

Revelation 4:6 — “Before the throne was something like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. In the middle of the throne, and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.” The vault as pavement for the celestial residents — the heavenly throne-room’s crystal floor is the DW image of what the blue vault is from the other side: the transparent floor of heaven through which heaven and earth share one continuous space of adoration. Typological

The Power of One DW Act: Merit as Common Good

“the Power of one Act in My Will is such as to seem unbelievable… since you have free will—worthy of merit—as you emitted your act, My Will unleashed from Itself a Greater Love, Glory and Happiness, by which all felt invested… My Will belongs to all, and all have a right to that Act. Since it is an act from a pilgrim soul, who gains the merit of every good she does, that merit becomes a common Merit, and also common Joy, Love and Glory.”

1 Corinthians 12:12–13 — “For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit.” “My Will belongs to all, and all have a right to that Act… that merit becomes a common Merit, and also common Joy, Love and Glory” — the Body of Christ as the theological ground for communal merit: what one member does in the Spirit benefits the whole Body, not as a legal fiction but as an organic reality. Direct doctrinal parallel

Colossians 1:24 — “Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the assembly,” The DW-creature’s act whose merit becomes common merit corresponds to Paul’s completing what is lacking for the Body: the pilgrim soul’s meritorious acts are shared with the entire Church through the DW’s communal logic. Direct doctrinal parallel

John 15:9 — “Even as the Father has loved me, I also have loved you. Remain in my love.” “My Will belongs to all” — the divine love that is equal for all (infinitely, absolutely, eternally) grounds the equal right of all to the DW-act’s benefits. Hogan cites this text explicitly in this context. Christological/Trinitarian

Romans 14:7 — “For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself.” The act done in the DW is not private to the one who does it — the Pauline principle that no member of the Body acts solely for herself is the foundation of the common-merit teaching. Direct doctrinal parallel

Hebrews 12:22–24 — “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.” “The Angels and the Saints receive a higher Glory and Happiness… while those on earth receive more Help and Graces” — the DW-act investing both the heavenly assembly and the earthly pilgrims corresponds to the gathering at Mount Zion where heaven and earth are one assembly. Typological

Knowledge as Appetite: The Little Door for God’s Gifts

“O, how I wish that all knew what it means to Live in My Will. This Knowledge is like the appetite, which causes one to desire and to enjoy the food eaten. But without appetite, one feels aversion toward that same food… it is the little door for My Gifts—the Good I want to give to creatures, and it is the Confirmation of Possession. Knowledge generates esteem and appreciation of My Truths—only then do I speak; when I know that My Words are Loved, listened to, and appreciated.”

Matthew 5:6 — “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Knowledge as the appetite that enables the reception of divine gifts — the Beatitude names as blessed precisely those who have the appetite the entry describes: hunger and thirst as the condition for satisfaction, the little door through which the gifts can enter. Direct doctrinal parallel

John 14:21 — “One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.” “when I see esteem and love I feel attracted by My same Love to Manifest more Truths” — the divine self-manifestation as the response to the creature’s love: John 14:21 is the pattern of which this entry is the DW-level actualization. Direct doctrinal parallel

1 Corinthians 2:9–12 (translation pending) — “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard… God has prepared for those who love him… these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.” Knowledge as the Spirit’s revelation to those who love — “Knowledge generates esteem and appreciation of My Truths… only then do I speak.” The Spirit’s revealing is conditional on the creature’s desire to receive. Direct doctrinal parallel

Hosea 6:3 — “Let’s acknowledge the LORD. Let’s press on to know the LORD. As surely as the sun rises, the LORD will appear. He will come to us like the rain, like the spring rain that waters the earth.” “Even more, when I see esteem and love I feel attracted by My same Love to Manifest more Truths” — the divine self-giving in response to the creature’s pressing to know: the Lord’s going out (His manifestation of more truths) is proportional to the creature’s pressing forward in knowledge. Direct doctrinal parallel

Proverbs 2:1–5 — “My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you, so as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.” The diligent pursuit of knowledge as the condition under which divine Wisdom is given — the appetite for wisdom creating the little door through which it enters. Direct doctrinal parallel

Stage Two — Comparison with Hogan’s Commentary

CORRESPONDENCES

John 15:9 identified by both for the common-merit / all-have-a-right passage. Hogan cites it explicitly: “That’s John 15, 9. As the Father has loved me, I love you. And that’s the way you must love one another as well.” No citation error.

Both citation streams identify the divine pregnancy/birth image as the governing metaphor for the maturation and delivery of Truth in the Divinity. Hogan develops this at length: “a truth is born in him, reaches maturity, and then reaches the point it must be given.” Stage One identifies Isaiah 66:9, John 16:21, and Galatians 4:19 as the load-bearing scriptural anchors.

Both note the GCM-1 logic of the gift’s generative spread: Hogan identifies Luisa as the first receiver and names the spread as going “to the whole world… like light spreads, nothing can stop it.” Stage One identifies John 12:24 for the single-seed-bearing-much-fruit mechanism.

DEVIATIONS

Hogan frames the outpouring-of-love passage through the lens of Luisa’s specific vocation as the “Secretary” and first receiver: “Luisa was the one who received this gift fully… he says that because she received it fully it has now gone out to the whole world.” Stage One identifies the generative mechanism through John 12:24 (the seed) and Colossians 1:24 (common merit) without personalizing it to Luisa. Hogan’s angle illuminates the EML-1 dimension: the “first one who disposes herself to receive Our Gift” whom God trusts and makes His Secretary is the Luisian-specific application of the GCM-1 principle — one creature’s full reception enabling the gift’s worldwide spread.

Hogan frames the knowledge-as-appetite passage through the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2–3: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, fear of the Lord) without citing a verse number. Stage One does not develop the Holy Spirit’s gifts tradition for this movement. Hogan’s angle connects the “knowledge” the entry names with the Spirit’s own infused gift: the appetite for knowledge of the DW is cultivated and sustained by the Spirit’s gift of knowledge and understanding.

ADDITIONS — HERS

Hogan identifies Luisa explicitly as the Secretary and the first receiver of the delivered Gift, connecting the “first one who disposes herself to receive Our Gift” passage to Luisa’s specific vocation: “Luisa was the one who received this gift fully… because she received it fully it has now gone out to the whole world.” The implicit scriptural background is Luke 1:38 (Mary’s fiat as the model reception that enabled God’s gift to reach the world) — the structural parallel is exact: the one who gives the unreserved “yes” enables the gift’s outpouring to all. Hogan develops this connection without citing Luke 1:38 explicitly, but the Marian parallel is the implicit typological ground.

Hogan identifies the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2–3, unnamed) for the knowledge-as-appetite passage, connecting the creature’s appetite for DW knowledge to the Spirit’s own gifts of knowledge and understanding infused in baptism and confirmation: “the Holy Spirit gives wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety and the fear of the Lord… particularly if you call upon him all the time, he will keep renewing them.” Stage One identifies Matthew 5:6, John 14:21, and 1 Corinthians 2:9–12 for this movement but not the specific Isaiah 11:2–3 gifts-of-the-Spirit tradition.

VIP / SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS

None. This entry opens a new audio file (Vol35-04). The title itself contains ILY-1 vocabulary: “Fidgets and delirium to see us Possessors of His Gifts” — the first entry-title in Volume 35 to name the fidgets-and-delirium language explicitly.

STAGE TWO SYNTHESIS

This entry achieves the most formally developed single-entry statement of the divine self-giving in the entire Volume 35 arc. Three interlocking images govern: the divine pregnancy (Truth matured in the Womb of the Divinity, delivered under the urgency of fidgeting and delirious love), the word-as-love-outpouring (each divine word a chain-link of poured-out love filling heaven and earth), and the common merit (one DW-act investing all creatures through the Body’s organic unity). The dominant biblical traditions are Prophetic-birth (Isaiah 66:9; Galatians 4:19; John 16:21; Proverbs 8:22–25), Johannine Word-and-life (John 1:14; 6:63; 14:21; 15:9), Pauline-communal-body (1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Colossians 1:24; Romans 14:7), and Doxological-praise (Psalm 19:1; 148; 103). Hogan’s EML-1-adjacent identification of Luisa as the first receiver and the Holy Spirit’s gifts tradition for knowledge-as-appetite are the most distinctive Stage Two contributions.

Cross-Entry Synthesis

Volume 35 — September 12, 1937 “How these Truths are the Greatest Gift that God gives to us. Divine Birth. Fidgets and delirium to see us Possessors of His Gifts. Outpouring of Love: His Word. The Great Good of one act done in His Divine Will.”

Stage Three — Cross-Entry Synthesis

The Divine Will as Narrator: Littleness Dissolved in the DW

The entry opens with Luisa overwhelmed — not by suffering but by abundance. The divine Will wants to speak so much that the creature’s finite capacity cannot contain it. Jesus’s response establishes the entry’s governing principle: littleness is not an obstacle to the DW’s narrating work but its precondition. “Your littleness remains dissolved inside My Will” — the dissolution of the creature’s limits is what enables the DW to make itself the narrator through the creature’s lips.

2 Corinthians 12:9 (power made perfect in weakness) grounds this from the Pauline side. Jeremiah 1:6–9 and Exodus 4:10–12 supply the prophetic commissioning pattern: Jeremiah’s “I do not know how to speak” and Moses’s “I am slow of speech” met by the same divine response — “I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” The pattern is identical across the prophetic and apostolic traditions: the creature’s acknowledged insufficiency is the condition under which the divine word fills the mouth and narrates through the creature’s smallness.

Hogan notes that this is the same pattern Luisa has described across all thirty-five volumes: “he gives me the thoughts, he gives me the words, he gives me the capacity to write.” The September 6 and September 12 entries together constitute the most formally developed NDW-1 sequence in Volume 35: September 6 gave the four-title definition (Operator / Narrator / Bearer / Keeper); September 12 gives the mechanism — the DW investing the creature’s mind, making itself small on her lips, making itself known for who it is through her acknowledged littleness.

Truth Matured in the Womb of the Divinity: Divine Pregnancy, Birth-Pangs, and Delivery

This movement contains the entry’s most theologically original image and the most formally developed CWD-1 statement in Volume 35: Truth is a baby matured within the Womb of the Divinity, and its delivery is accomplished only under the urgency of a love become fidgety, delirious, and finally in the pangs of childbirth. The entry’s title itself names the ILY-1 language: “Fidgets and delirium to see us Possessors of His Gifts.”

Isaiah 66:9 is the most direct Old Testament anchor — “shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to deliver?” — the rhetorical question implying that the God who brings to the point of birth cannot fail to deliver. Stage One also identifies John 16:21 (labor sorrow turning to joy at the birth) for the delivery-as-feast image: “when We find one who receives It, We confirm the Gift — We make a feast, feeling Victorious” is the divine form of the mother’s joy at the newborn. Both texts, read together, establish the full arc: the divine pregnancy’s urgency (Isaiah 66:9) and the divine joy at delivery (John 16:21).

Galatians 4:19 — Paul in anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in the Galatians — supplies the apostolic form: Paul’s anguish is the creature-level echo of the divine birth-pangs. The entry takes Paul’s metaphor and locates its origin in God: the reason Paul can be in anguish of childbirth for souls is that God Himself experiences the same anguish when the Gift matured in His Womb cannot find a receiver.

Proverbs 8:22–25 (Wisdom brought forth from God’s own depths) supplies the Wisdom-tradition ground: the maturation of Truth/Wisdom in the divine being before its delivery to creation is precisely what Wisdom describes of herself — “before the hills, I was brought forth.” Every truth delivered through the DW has been matured in the divine womb as Wisdom was matured before creation; the thirty-five volumes of Luisa’s writings are the labor of a pregnancy that began before the world was made.

The generative spread — “by Its Generative Virtue It will Regenerate many other Births, filling the whole world” — is grounded by John 12:24 (the grain of wheat dying and bearing much fruit) and connects directly to the GCM-1 principle: the gift received by one creature carries within itself the generative power to multiply through all other creatures. Hogan makes this connection explicit by identifying Luisa as the first receiver: Luisa’s full reception of the Gift is the condition for its worldwide spread. Luke 1:38 (Mary’s fiat as the model reception enabling the Incarnation’s outpouring to the world) is the structural parallel that Hogan implies without citing — the Luisian “yes” to the DW is the Marian fiat transposed to the DW’s eschatological delivery.

The Word as Outpouring of Love: A Chain of Love-Outpourings

The disclosure that each divine word is a love-outpouring provides the entry’s most comprehensive account of why “letting Us speak is the Greatest Good that can be done for the creatures.” The word is not merely a communication but a pouring-out of the divine being into the creature’s world — and a chain of such poured love constitutes the entire history of divine revelation.

John 1:14 is the supreme anchor for this movement: the Word made flesh is the fullest Love-Outpouring, the moment at which the divine word achieved its most complete condensation into creaturely form. Every other divine word — scriptural, apostolic, mystical — participates in this same Incarnational logic: the Word making itself small on creaturely lips. John 6:63 (“the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life”) confirms that each love-outpouring is itself a giving of divine life: the words are not about life but are themselves spirit-and-life.

Both citation streams converge on the outpouring’s universal effect — “fills Heaven and earth, invests all, and embalms all sufferings; It becomes the day in the night of guilt.” Stage One’s Isaiah 9:2 (the great light shining in darkness) and Isaiah 60:1–2 (arise, shine, the LORD’s glory rising over the earth) provide the prophetic eschatological frame: the Love-Outpouring is the dawn of the divine day within the night of sin. Psalm 107:20 (“he sent out his word and healed them”) names the therapeutic dimension: the word heals and delivers, corresponding to the entry’s list of effects (converts sinners, straightens the limping, strengthens the good).

Hogan’s pastoral observation connects this theology to Luisa’s writings specifically: “every word that he has said in the Bible is an outpouring of love to us. Every word that he has said through all the saints… every word in these 36 volumes is an outpouring of love to us.” The chain of love-outpourings is therefore the entire history of divine revelation, with Luisa’s corpus as its latest and most formally DW-specific link.

The warning — “many times, when We have nobody to whom to express Our Love, these Outpourings are justly turned into Justice” — inverts the outpouring: when the Love that poured itself out as gift is not received, it becomes justice instead. This is not a threat but the theological logic of the rejected gift: the word-as-love either illuminates and heals (when received) or judges (when refused). Isaiah 9:2 and Romans 10:14–15 together name the two sides: the light shining in darkness (received) and the proclamation requiring a listener to reach its saving effect.

Luisa’s Round in Creation: The Vault as Shared Roof and Pavement

The brief account of Luisa’s round in the vault advances RPT-1 with a specific image not previously developed: the blue sky as simultaneously roof for earth-dwellers and floor for heaven-dwellers. The two communities — pilgrims on earth and saints in heaven — share the vault without one diminishing the other’s relationship to it; they are the two sides of one continuous created space that carries the obligation to adore.

Psalm 19:1 and Psalm 148:1–6 supply the dominant scriptural register: the vault declaring God’s glory, and the comprehensive call to all creatures from both sides of the vault to praise together. Luisa’s round enacts what Psalm 148 commands: calling every being in the cosmic order — angels, saints, earth’s inhabitants — into one united act of love, adoration, glory, and thanksgiving.

Hogan develops the vault image through Genesis 1: “she’s speaking very much like the description of the vault of heaven in Genesis chapter one. So everything above is God’s church and everything below is us.” This connection identifies the vault as a liturgical space — “everything above is God’s church” — with the DW-creature performing the liturgical function of uniting the two congregations across the one threshold that both the earthly roof and the heavenly floor designate.

Revelation 4:6 (the sea of glass before the throne) supplies the heavenly-floor image: the transparent crystal pavement through which heaven and earth remain in visible communion even as they are spatially distinct. Luisa’s round in the vault is the DW-creature’s enactment of what this Apocalyptic image depicts — the threshold traversed in the DW, the two congregations united in one act of worship.

The Power of One DW Act: Merit as Common Good

The final doctrinal movement provides the theological rationale for why the DW-creature’s act in the rounds benefits everyone, not just herself. “My Will belongs to all, and all have a right to that Act” — the DW’s communal character is its governing ontological property: it is inherently for all, which means acts done within it carry benefits for all.

1 Corinthians 12:12–13 (the Body of Christ) is the governing Pauline anchor: the organic unity of the Body means one member’s DW-act is the whole Body’s act. Colossians 1:24 extends this to include suffering for the Body: the pilgrims’ meritorious acts in the DW fill up what is lacking for the Body’s edification, the DW-act being the most complete form of this completion-of-what-is-lacking. Hogan develops the communal logic practically: “the more we do, the more the earth is actually embellished, the more heaven can participate, and the more glory given to God” — each DW-act is simultaneously an enrichment of heaven (greater glory for the saints), a benefit for the earth (more graces for pilgrims), and a glory for God.

The double movement of the DW-act’s effect — angels and saints receiving higher glory, earth receiving more help and graces — corresponds structurally to the vault movement: the act done in the DW crosses the threshold between the two sides, investing both simultaneously. Hebrews 12:22–24 supplies the heavenly assembly as the recipient of the saints’ higher glory, the “assembly of the firstborn enrolled in heaven” receiving benefit from each DW-act of the pilgrims below.

John 15:9 (cited by Hogan) grounds the “My Will belongs to all” in the equal measure of divine love: the Father’s love for the Son that Christ transmits to all creatures equally establishes why all have an equal right to the DW-act’s benefits. The equality of divine love is the ground of the equality of right.

Knowledge as Appetite: The Little Door for God’s Gifts

The closing movement articulates the epistemological dimension of the entire entry’s logic: why some receive the divine gifts and others do not. Knowledge is the appetite — the interior state that creates the little door through which gifts can enter. Without it, the creature has no hunger for what is offered, and the door remains shut.

Matthew 5:6 (blessed are those who hunger) and John 14:21 (I will manifest myself to the one who loves me) together form the dual anchor: the hunger is the little door (Matthew), and the divine self-manifestation responds to love and esteem (John 14:21). Both texts confirm the entry’s claim: the creature’s desire and appreciation are not merely decorative — they are what enables the divine communication to occur.

Hogan extends this through the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2–3): the knowledge and understanding that constitute the appetite are themselves divine gifts, which means the entire dynamic is circular in the best sense — the Spirit infuses the gifts of knowledge and understanding at baptism/confirmation; these gifts create the appetite; the appetite opens the little door; the divine truth enters and deepens the knowledge; and the deepened knowledge creates greater appetite. The Divine Will’s growing-to-fullness (August 23) and the knowledge-as-appetite (September 12) are thus the same dynamic viewed from different angles: in August 23, the entry described growth from the DW’s side (each act enabling growth); here, the same growth is described from the creature’s side (knowledge as the appetite that enables reception).

The entry’s final appeal — “You will not do this to Me, will you?” — is the language of a lover who has said everything possible in this entry to create the appetite and opens the door with one last vulnerable question. The tone exactly matches Hosea 2:14 (I will allure her and speak tenderly to her) and Revelation 3:20 (I stand at the door and knock): God has exhausted every form of persuasion available and now appeals to the creature’s freedom and love directly.

Synthesis

Dominant biblical imagination: The entry draws on four traditions simultaneously. The Prophetic-birth tradition (Isaiah 66:9; Galatians 4:19; John 16:21; Proverbs 8:22–25; Isaiah 49:1) provides the governing image of the divine pregnancy and delivery. The Johannine Word-and-life tradition (John 1:14; 6:63; 14:21; 15:9; 12:24) provides the word-as-love-outpouring and the communal life it generates. The Pauline-communal-Body tradition (1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Colossians 1:24; Romans 14:7) provides the common-merit theology. The Doxological-praise tradition (Psalm 19:1; 148; 103; Revelation 4:6) provides the vault-as-shared-adoration-space.

Most load-bearing scriptural traditions: Isaiah 66:9 is the single most theologically specific anchor for the divine pregnancy image — the prophetic question “shall I bring to the point of birth and not cause to deliver?” establishes the divine compulsion that the entry names as the Love that cannot contain itself. It grounds the ILY-1 language theologically: the “fidgets and delirium” are not arbitrary excesses but the urgency of a love that has reached the term of its inner gestation and must deliver. John 1:14 is the second most load-bearing: the Incarnation as the supreme Love-Outpouring establishes the pattern for every subsequent divine word, including the thirty-five volumes of Luisa’s writings as the latest chain-link in the history of love-outpourings. Colossians 1:24 is the third: the common-merit teaching finds its Pauline anchor not in a general communal principle but in the specific apostolic act of completing what is lacking for the Body — the DW-creature’s acts are the DW-level of what Paul understood himself to be doing for the Church.

Three most theologically significant findings:

First, the divine pregnancy image — “We mature it within the Womb of Our Divinity” — is CWD-1’s most formally developed corpus statement: the divine birth-pangs, delivery-to-daylight, and feast of victory constitute a complete narrative arc for the costs of speaking divine truth. The entry’s title naming “fidgets and delirium” at the title level confirms that this is the formally recognized terminology of the entry’s central doctrinal claim.

Second, the common-merit teaching advances RLT-1 and the communal logic simultaneously: “My Will belongs to all, and all have a right to that Act… that merit becomes a common Merit, and also common Joy, Love and Glory.” The pilgrim soul’s DW-act is simultaneously her own meritorious act and the Church’s common property — a formulation that holds individual merit and communal benefit without dissolving either into the other.

Third, the knowledge-as-appetite teaching provides the epistemological ground for the entire Volume 35 growth-to-fullness arc (established in August 23): knowledge is not merely information about the DW but the interior appetite that creates the little door enabling the DW’s growth. The DW grows toward fullness (August 23) through the sighs and desires that constitute the little shelves (September 6); those sighs and desires are themselves generated by the knowledge-appetite that creates hunger for the divine gift (September 12). The three entries form a coherent epistemological-ontological sequence explaining how the DW grows and why some receive its fullness and others do not.

35-1937-09-12

ILY-1 — sixth consecutive signal / title-level formal naming: The entry title itself reads “Fidgets and delirium to see us Possessors of His Gifts” — the first entry-title in Volume 35 to name the fidgets-and-delirium language explicitly, confirming this as the formally recognized terminology of the volume’s ILY-1 arc. Within the entry: “to the extent of becoming fidgety and delirious and even of making Us languish for desire to see that Good transmitted to them… Doing Good is a passion for Us. Giving is the continuous delirium of Our Love.” Six consecutive Volume 35 entries now carry ILY-1 language (August 9 through September 12). Title-level appearance constitutes the strongest possible confirmation of formal reactivation.

CWD-1 — Womb-of-Divinity / divine-pregnancy most formally developed: “first We mature it within the Womb of Our Divinity. Then, when We can no longer contain it… We find Ourselves in the painful conditions of a poor mother who… feels as though she would die if she didn’t deliver her baby into daylight.” Most formally developed CWD-1 corpus statement: Truth as a baby matured in the divine Womb and delivered only under the urgency of love’s birth-pangs. Complete narrative arc: pregnancy (maturation in the divine womb) → birth-pangs (fidgets and delirium, languishing) → delivery (to the one who receives) → feast of victory → generative spread to all creatures. New image-register: divine pregnancy, birth-pangs, delivery-to-daylight.

NDW-1 — narrating-mechanism advance: “My Will Itself will take the task of narrating all that It wants to make them known… It will Invest your mind; It will make Itself small on your lips, and It will make Itself known for Who It really is.” The two consecutive entries of September 6 (four-title formula: Operator / Narrator / Bearer / Keeper) and September 12 (mechanism of narration: investing the mind, making itself small on the lips, making itself known) constitute the most formally complete NDW-1 two-entry sequence in Volume 35. September 12 advances from definition to operational mechanism.

GCM-1 — generative-virtue-of-the-Gift advance: “Our Baby delivered with so much Love, being received by one single creature, will go around to all the creatures, and by Its Generative Virtue It will Regenerate many other Births, filling the whole world.” The GCM-1 mechanism in its most formally biological form: the gift received by one creature carries generative virtue that multiplies through all others. Hogan identifies Luisa as the first receiver, making the connection to the EML-1 / GCM-1 intersection explicit.

RLT-1 — common-merit / common-right advance: “My Will belongs to all, and all have a right to that Act. Since it is an act from a pilgrim soul… that merit becomes a common Merit, and also common Joy, Love and Glory.” RLT-1 advances with the common-right formula: the DW-act’s merit as the common property of all creatures, holding individual merit and communal benefit simultaneously. New register advancing the universal-horizontal-rights statement (April 8, 1937).

RPT-1 — vault-as-shared-roof-and-pavement new register: “This Heaven serves as a vault for the residents of the earth, and as a pavement for the Celestial Residents… I called all the Angels, the Saints and all the residents of the earth with me.” New RPT-1 register: the vault as the shared threshold between earth-dwellers and heaven-dwellers, creating a universal adoration-obligation on both sides that the round gathers into one act.
