11-1915-09-20 Biblical Resonance Analysis
Volume 11 — September 20, 1915 “New chastisements. Every act must be tied by the ‘FIAT’ between the Divine and the human will.”
STAGE ONE — Independent Biblical Identification
Chastisements Spreading — Conspiracy Against the Church
“It seemed that the chastisements were spreading more. Among many things, it seemed that a conspiracy was being plotted against the Holy Church, and they were mentioning Rome. Blessed Jesus was afflicted and seemed covered by a black mantle.”
Ezekiel 22:30 — “I sought for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.” The divine searching for an intercessor amid spreading chastisement — the entry’s context of escalating scourges and the absence of adequate intercessory response. Typological
Isaiah 59:14–15 — “Justice is turned away backward, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has fallen in the street, and uprightness can’t enter. Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. The LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.” The divine grief at the collapse of truth and justice in the public order — the Lord afflicted, covered in mourning, witnessing the conspiracy against what he loves. Affective/meditative
Micah 3:11–12 — “Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money; yet they lean on the LORD, and say, “Isn’t the LORD among us? No disaster will come on us.” Therefore Zion for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.” Corruption at the level of religious leadership producing catastrophe — the conspiracy against Rome disclosed as the deepest form of the CEA-1 intra-ecclesial apostasy register. Direct doctrinal parallel
Revelation 11:7–8 — “When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them. Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.” The assault on the witnesses of God in the great city — the apocalyptic form of the conspiracy against the Church at the level of her symbolic center. Typological
Psalm 2:1–2 — “Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his Anointed, saying,” The plotting against the Lord and his Anointed — the conspiracy against the Church as the earthly form of the cosmic rebellion against the Lord and his Christ. Direct doctrinal parallel
Jeremiah 6:14 — “They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.” The false peace declared in the face of coming destruction — the denial of the spreading scourges as the structural counterpart to Jesus’s grief at the hardness persisting through the expanding war. Affective/meditative
Jesus Covered by a Black Mantle — Divine Mourning Over the Mystical Body
“Since the creatures are my members, I am covered by a black mantle because of them.”
1 Corinthians 12:26–27 — “When one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. When one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.” The mystical body’s co-suffering principle: the Head suffers what the members suffer because they are one body. The black mantle is not Jesus’s personal grief alone but the collective mourning of all his members entered into and worn by the Head. Direct doctrinal parallel
Romans 8:22 — “For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.” The groaning of the whole creation as the objective correlate of Jesus’s mourning: the universal sorrow and mourning that the spreading scourges produce is creation’s birth-pangs, worn by the one who bore creation’s first Adam and redeemed its groaning. Direct doctrinal parallel
Isaiah 53:4 — “Surely he has borne our sickness and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.” The Servant bearing the griefs and sorrows of the people — the black mantle is the visible form of this bearing: the sorrow that belongs to the members is carried by the Head as his own covering. Direct doctrinal parallel
Lamentations 2:10 — “The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground. They keep silence. They have cast up dust on their heads. They have clothed themselves with sackcloth. The virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.” The communal mourning rite of covered heads and sackcloth — the black mantle Jesus wears is the divine enactment of the ancient mourning gesture, the Head putting on grief for his members. Affective/meditative
Jeremiah 14:2 — “Judah mourns, and its gates languish. They sit in black on the ground. The cry of Jerusalem goes up.” The city’s mourning as the mourning of her Lord — Jesus covered in black for the creatures is the inversion of the same pattern: the mourning of the Head for the city that mourns, the grief of the one who loves the mourners flowing back to them through his own covered figure. Affective/meditative
The FIAT as Sweet Tie — The Will-Knot
“The FIAT must be the sweet tie that will bind all your acts. My Will and yours will form the knot.”
Luke 22:42 — “saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” The original Fiat of the Passion — the foundational FIAT that is the source of all creaturely fiats. Jesus teaches the FIAT as sweet tie precisely in the context of chastisements, mirroring the Gethsemane context: the cup is not removed, but the will’s alignment transforms the suffering’s register. Direct doctrinal parallel
Matthew 6:10 — “Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The petition of the Lord’s Prayer that is the formal daily FIAT of the community — “your will be done” as the knot between divine and human will, the sweet tie that aligns creaturely action with heavenly operation. Direct doctrinal parallel
Romans 8:28 — “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.” The all-things-working-together is the consequence of the FIAT: every act tied to the Will is converted into a channel of divine communication, which is the mechanism by which “all things work together for good.” Direct doctrinal parallel
Hebrews 10:7, 9 — “Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book’… ‘Behold, I have come to do your will.‘” The Christological FIAT as the ground of the new covenant’s efficacy — the “Behold, I come to do your will” is the first and sufficient FIAT from which all creaturely fiats take their force. Christological/Trinitarian
John 6:38 — “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.” The entire Incarnation framed as the FIAT sustained from start to finish — the “sweet tie” that binds all Jesus’s acts to the Father’s will as the model the soul is now invited to replicate. Christological/Trinitarian
Psalm 40:8 — “I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your law is within my heart.” The FIAT as delight, not merely compliance — the “sweet tie” of the entry echoes the Psalmist’s framing of the divine will as heart-dwelling delight. Affective/meditative
James 4:13–15 — “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city and spend a year there, … For you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.” The FIAT as the proper form of all creaturely planning and acting — the will-knot applied to every practical act of daily life, not merely spiritual states. Direct doctrinal parallel
Channels of Communication — Every Act Tied Opens Another Channel
“Every thought, word and act done, tied with my Will, will be like many channels of communication opened between Myself and the creature. If all your acts will be tied to my Will, not one channel of Divine communication will be closed between you and Me.”
John 15:4–5 — “Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” The vine-and-branch abiding as the permanent organic connection — the channels of communication are the living flow of sap through the branch that abides: when no act is severed from the Will, the flow is uninterrupted. Direct doctrinal parallel
John 14:21 — “One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.” The keeping of the commandments (= tying of acts to the Will) as the condition for the manifestation of Christ — each tied act opens a channel through which the divine self-disclosure flows to the creature. Direct doctrinal parallel
1 Thessalonians 5:17 — “Pray without ceasing.” The ceasing-less prayer as the life in which no channel of communication is ever closed — the FIAT attached to every thought, word, and act is the operationalization of the “without ceasing” that Paul names as the norm of the Christian life. Direct doctrinal parallel
Colossians 3:17 — “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” “Everything… in word or deed” tied to the Lord’s name is the Pauline FIAT-structure: every act consecrated by the Name is an act tied to the Will, opening communication. Direct doctrinal parallel
Romans 8:6 — “For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;” The mind set on the Spirit (= acts tied to the Will) as life and peace; the mind set on the flesh (= acts untied from the Will) as death — the channels of communication as the channels of life and peace. Direct doctrinal parallel
2 Corinthians 2:14 — “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and reveals through us the sweet aroma of his knowledge in every place.” The spreading fragrance through every believer’s acts as the image of the channels of divine communication spreading through the world via the creature whose every act is tied to the Will. Affective/meditative
Philippians 4:7 — “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.” The guarding peace — the consequence of the FIAT-tied life — is what flows through the channels when they are open: the divine communication that passes through each tied act is the peace that guards the heart and mind. Direct doctrinal parallel
Deuteronomy 6:5–6 — “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart;” The total-coverage of the great commandment — every faculty and capacity of the creature directed toward God — is the theological aspiration of which the FIAT tied to “every thought, word and act” is the Luisian operationalization. Direct doctrinal parallel
Wisdom 8:1 — “But she reaches from one end to the other with full strength, and orders all things well.” The divine Wisdom ordering all things — the FIAT-tied life is the creature’s participation in this ordering: every act aligned with the Will places the creature within the Wisdom-ordered movement that “reaches from one end to the other.” Typological
STAGE TWO — Comparison with Hogan’s Commentary
CORRESPONDENCES
1 Corinthians 12 (body of Christ / members) — Hogan cites this for Jesus covered by the black mantle: “since they are my members, that’s 1 Corinthians 12.” Both analyses identify the mystical-body principle as the theological ground for Jesus’s co-mourning. Hogan’s reference is imprecise — “second half of the chapter, around verse 20 or something, I just haven’t looked it up.” The precise reference is 1 Corinthians 12:26–27 (“if one member suffers, all suffer together… you are the body of Christ”). Hogan’s approximation points to the right chapter and half; the exact verse is 12:26–27.
Exodus 12:29–34 — Hogan cites this for the universal mourning: “the last time the whole world was wrapped in mourning and sorrow was in the 10th plague of Egypt… the firstborn of every family was killed.” Stage One does not independently identify this passage. Full Stage Two treatment below.
DEVIATIONS
No deviations on shared passages. The framing difference: Stage One approaches the chastisement-mourning through the prophetic corpus (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations), while Hogan approaches it through the Exodus typology. Both are correct readings of different registers.

ADDITIONS — HERS
Exodus 12:29–34 — universal mourning typology: Hogan supplies the typological anchor Stage One missed: the tenth plague, in which the firstborn of every Egyptian family died and “the last time the whole world was wrapped in mourning and sorrow” occurred. The WWI mortality — sons of families across every nation killed — is typologically parallel to the Egypt-wide mourning of the exodus plague. Exodus 12:30 specifically: “there was not a house where someone was not dead” — the universality of household mourning as the exact image of the war’s universal reach. Jesus’s “all people will be covered by sorrow and mourning” finds its OT type here.
Intra-ecclesial apostasy specification — seminary infiltration: Hogan names the conspiracy against Rome and the Church as the Marxist and Masonic infiltration of the seminaries, tracing the fruit to the abuse crises of later decades: “all the homosexuality and abuse of children has come out of that.” This is the CEA-1 intra-ecclesial apostasy register (March 7, 1915) given its historically specific institutional form: not merely a future prediction but a named organizational program with documented later effects. The implicit scriptural ground remains Matthew 10:36 and Acts 20:30 (enemies from within).
VIP / SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS
Hogan designates this entry explicitly as a VIP message: “That’s a VIP message, isn’t it?” with the specific VIP pound-sign notation (#vip). VIP #19 (Volume 11).
Hogan identifies the second paragraph — the FIAT as sweet tie and the channels-of-communication disclosure — as the VIP content.
STAGE TWO SYNTHESIS
The entry’s biblical imagination divides sharply between the chastisement movement and the FIAT movement. The chastisement movement draws from the prophetic corpus of mourning and conspiracy (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Psalm 2, Revelation 11), with Hogan’s Exodus 12 typology supplying the most structurally precise OT parallel — the universal household mourning of the tenth plague as the type of the war’s universal reach. The FIAT movement draws from the Christological Fiat tradition (Luke 22:42; Hebrews 10:7; John 6:38) and the total-coverage traditions (Deuteronomy 6:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Colossians 3:17), with the channels-of-communication image as the entry’s distinctive structural contribution — each act tied to the Will opening a channel of divine communication, the fully tied life maintaining every channel permanently open. The VIP designation attaches to the second movement: the FIAT-channels disclosure is the load-bearing doctrinal content.
Cross-Entry Synthesis
Volume 11 — September 20, 1915 “New chastisements. Every act must be tied by the ‘FIAT’ between the Divine and the human will.”
Chastisements Spreading — Conspiracy Against the Church
“It seemed that a conspiracy was being plotted against the Holy Church, and they were mentioning Rome. Blessed Jesus was afflicted and seemed covered by a black mantle.”
The conspiracy against Rome named in this September 1915 entry advances the CEA-1 intra-ecclesial apostasy register opened March 7, 1915 (“its greatest enemies will be its own children”) and confirmed June 6, 1915 (Masonic specification). This entry adds the institutional-targeting dimension: not merely internal apostasy in the abstract but an organized conspiracy mentioning Rome specifically — the Church’s institutional center as the target. Hogan names this as the Marxist and Masonic seminary infiltration whose bitter fruit she connects to the abuse crises of later decades. The prophetic tradition provides multiple angles on this conspiracy: Psalm 2:1–2 (nations plotting against the Lord and his Anointed), Micah 3:11–12 (corruption of religious leadership producing catastrophe), and Revelation 11:7–8 (the beast making war on the witnesses at the great city). These passages are not competing but layered: the cosmic rebellion (Psalm 2), the internal institutional failure (Micah 3), and the eschatological assault (Revelation 11) are three registers of the same event at different scales.
Hogan’s most significant addition is the Exodus 12:29–34 typology: the universal mourning of the tenth plague as the OT type for the war’s universal household grief. Exodus 12:30 — “there was not a house where someone was not dead” — is the precise textual parallel to Jesus’s “all people will be covered by sorrow and mourning.” The typological identification discloses the war’s position in the providential history: as the tenth plague broke Pharaoh’s resistance and opened the way for the Exodus, the universal mourning of WWI carries a redemptive teleology beneath its destruction, though Hogan notes (consistent with CEA-1’s delayed-repentance mechanic) that repentance has not yet followed in proportion to the suffering.
Jesus Covered by a Black Mantle — Divine Co-Mourning with the Body
“Since the creatures are my members, I am covered by a black mantle because of them.”
The mystical-body principle that both Hogan and Stage One anchor in 1 Corinthians 12:26–27 — “if one member suffers, all suffer together; you are the body of Christ” — is here expressed in its most visually striking form in the corpus: the Head wearing the mourning garment that his members are wearing. The image is not primarily theological statement but liturgical embodiment: Jesus performing the ancient mourning rite (Lamentations 2:10’s covered heads and sackcloth) on behalf of all who are in mourning because they are in him.
Isaiah 53:4 (“he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows”) provides the prophetic ground: the bearing of member-griefs by the Head is the continuous form of what the Servant accomplished at Calvary. The black mantle is the Passion’s mourning dress worn in the mystical body’s present. The Head does not observe from outside the suffering but wears it: the members’ sorrow is genuinely his covering.
This image connects to the AJD-1 arc’s reverse direction: if the soul’s vocation is to serve as Christ’s Humanity in the world (July 9, 1915: “she serves as my Humanity”), then the Head’s bearing of the members’ grief is the model that the soul’s intercessory circuit replicates — the Head wears black for his body; the DW soul wears the weight of the world’s sin for Christ. The structural symmetry is exact.
The FIAT as Sweet Tie — The Will-Knot
“The FIAT must be the sweet tie that will bind all your acts. My Will and yours will form the knot.”
The FIAT-as-knot image is presented in its structural relationship to the black-mantle context with deliberate pastoral contrast: the mantle is heavy and dark; the FIAT is a sweet tie. The same reality — the union of divine and human wills — that makes Jesus wear the mourning of his members is reframed from the affective (grief shared) to the volitional (wills bound). The FIAT does not remove the chastisements but changes their interior register: every act tied to the Will, even in a world wrapped in mourning, is an act that participates in the divine operation.
The Christological ground is triple. Luke 22:42 provides the foundational FIAT: the cup not removed but the will aligned — the FIAT spoken in the most extreme context of suffering, not despite it. Hebrews 10:7, 9 provides the sacrificial ground: Christ’s whole life as one sustained “Behold, I come to do your will,” the FIAT as the principle of the entire Incarnation. John 6:38 provides the missional frame: “not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me” — the FIAT as the structural principle of being sent, applicable to every creature sent into the suffering world. The soul’s FIAT in the midst of chastisements is structurally the same act as Christ’s FIAT in Gethsemane: not the removal of the cup but the alignment of the will with the one who holds it.
Psalm 40:8 (“I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart”) supplies the affective tone that the “sweet tie” language requires: the FIAT is not resigned compliance but delight, the law internalized into the heart’s own motion. James 4:13–15 grounds the practical scope: the FIAT is not reserved for spiritual states or mystical acts but is the proper form of every “today we will go into such a town” — every quotidian plan and action consecrated by the “if the Lord wills.” The totality of Deuteronomy 6:5 (“with all your heart… soul… might”) names the comprehensive scope: “every thought, word and act” is not an intensification of the spiritual life but its proper architecture.
Channels of Communication — Every Act Tied Opens Another Channel
“Every thought, word and act done, tied with my Will, will be like many channels of communication opened between Myself and the creature. If all your acts will be tied to my Will, not one channel of Divine communication will be closed between you and Me.”
This is the entry’s most architecturally distinctive doctrinal contribution and the content Hogan designates VIP. The FIAT-channels doctrine introduces a structural metaphor that has not appeared in the corpus: the tied act as a channel of divine communication. The image is hydraulic and teleological simultaneously — not merely a connection established but a flow enabled, a conduit through which the divine communication moves in both directions.
The vine-branch image of John 15:4–5 is the closest organic parallel: the branch abiding in the vine maintains the uninterrupted sap-flow that is its life; severed acts (acts not tied to the Will) are the moments of cutting that interrupt the flow. 1 Thessalonians 5:17’s “pray without ceasing” is the practical form of the fully tied life: when every act is a FIAT, every act is also prayer, and the channel is never closed. Colossians 3:17 (“whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus”) is the Pauline operational form of the same total-coverage: the name invoked over every act is the knot tied, the channel opened.
The structural logic is additive and irreversible in a way that resembles the VSC-1 support-multiplication of August 14: the more supports formed (August 14), the larger the circle; the more channels opened (September 20), the richer the divine communication. But the register is different. August 14’s supports are structural props against chastisement directed outward toward souls; September 20’s channels are conduits of interior divine communication directed inward toward the soul. The two together constitute the complete architecture of the Will-tied life: outward (supports for souls) and inward (channels for divine communication).
Hogan’s pastoral application — “the more often we do it, the more channels of communication are opened” — captures the quantitative precision in the entry: not a single channel established by the decision to live in the Will, but a channel opened by each individual tied act. The total-coverage promise (“not one channel will be closed”) is thus the consequence of the total-FIAT practice: the fully tied life is the life in which every possible channel is open, not because a single comprehensive act established them all, but because every individual act has been tied and each has opened its own channel.
Romans 8:6 (“to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace”) and Philippians 4:7 (“the peace of God… will guard your hearts and your minds”) name the interior content of the fully open communication: life, peace, the divine guarding that flows through channels that are never closed. The entry presents this not as an eschatological promise but as the present-tense consequence of present-tense FIAT practice — the communication is already flowing through every tied act, now, in the midst of the spreading chastisements.
Synthesis
The dominant biblical imagination of this entry converges on two traditions that the entry holds in deliberate contrast: the prophetic-mourning tradition (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Psalm 2, Exodus 12) documenting the objective weight of the spreading chastisements, and the FIAT-and-total-devotion tradition (Luke 22:42, Hebrews 10:7, Deuteronomy 6:5, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Colossians 3:17) disclosing the interior response that the weight requires. Hogan’s Exodus 12 typology is the entry’s most structurally precise historical anchoring, positioning WWI within the providential pattern of suffering-preceding-liberation that runs from Egypt through the Passion to the present.
The three load-bearing findings are these. First, the CEA-1 intra-ecclesial apostasy register’s institutional specification: Rome named, conspiracy organized, seminary infiltration identified by Hogan as the mechanism — the entry is the most concrete single-entry documentation of the organized anti-Church program in the corpus. Second, the FIAT-channels doctrine as a formally distinct structural image: each tied act opening its own channel of divine communication, the total-FIAT life maintaining every channel permanently open, the interior communication flowing in proportion to the faithfulness of the practice. Third, the black-mantle image as the visual synthesis of the entire mystical-body-suffering arc: the Head wearing his members’ mourning is the entry’s most striking single image, the 1 Corinthians 12:26 co-suffering made visually concrete in a way no prior entry achieves.
This entry carries VIP #19 (Volume 11). Hogan designates the FIAT-channels paragraph as the load-bearing VIP content; the biblical resonances suggest that the black-mantle image carries equally significant doctrinal weight at the level of Christological disclosure, while the FIAT-channels doctrine advances the practical architecture of the Will-tied life most distinctively.
Observation Notes
See this note in volume context →
11-1915-09-20
VIP #19 (Volume 11): Hogan designates this entry explicitly as a VIP message with the #vip notation. Specifically marks the FIAT-channels-of-communication paragraph as the load-bearing VIP content: “every thought, word and act done, tied with my Will, will be like many channels of communication opened between Myself and the creature… not one channel of Divine communication will be closed.” VIP count Volume 11: #19.
CEA-1 — institutional-targeting specification: “It seemed that a conspiracy was being plotted against the Holy Church, and they were mentioning Rome.” Hogan names this as the Marxist and Masonic seminary infiltration, connecting the 1915 prophecy to the documented abuse crises of later decades. This is the most institutionally specific CEA-1 entry yet: not merely internal apostasy or generalized opposition but an organized conspiracy with Rome as the named target, and Hogan supplying the organizational form (seminary infiltration) as the historical mechanism. Consistent with and advancing the Masonic-specification of June 6, 1915.
DWE-1 — channels-of-communication register (new): “Every thought, word and act done, tied with my Will, will be like many channels of communication opened between Myself and the creature. If all your acts will be tied to my Will, not one channel of Divine communication will be closed between you and Me.” This is a formally distinct DWE-1 register: the Will as the necessary condition for every channel of divine communication — acts outside the Will not only fail ontologically (evaluative-judgment register) but specifically close channels that would otherwise be open. The positive formulation: every tied act opens a channel; the fully tied life maintains every channel permanently open. Governing anchors: John 15:4–5; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Colossians 3:17; Romans 8:6.
