02-1899-10-25 Biblical Resonance Analysis
STAGE ONE — INDEPENDENT BIBLICAL IDENTIFICATION
Note: A three-movement entry structured around the echo-image. (1) The echo of divine love resounding through creation, answered by the poisonous echo of creaturely ingratitude — and the divine threat to depopulate the earth; (2) the pitying-doctor parable — the most concentrated medical image of the chastisement-theology in the October sequence: the doctor who loves his children more than his own life, cuts and applies fire so the wounds do not become gangrenous, wounds in order to heal; (3) the sweetening-of-the-echo counsel — the only means to sweeten the poisonous echo is to do all actions with the sole purpose of pleasing God. Hogan explicitly marks the sweetening-of-the-echo counsel as a VIP message and “one of the steps along the journey into the divine will.”
Movement One: The Echo of Divine Love and the Echo of Ingratitude
“My love toward creatures is so great that it resounds like an echo in the celestial regions, it fills the atmosphere and diffuses over the whole earth. But… they requite Me with an echo of ingratitude, poisonous, filled with every kind of bitternesses and sins.”
Psalm 19:1–4 — “The heavens declare the glory of God. … voice has gone out through all the earth, their words to the end of the world.” The cosmic echo of divine glory — the OT form of the divine love-echo: filling the atmosphere, going to the end of the world. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Romans 1:20 — “For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse.” The created echo of the divine nature — creation itself is the medium through which the divine love resounds. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Romans 1:21 — “Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.” The ingratitude as suppression — the ground for “they requite Me with an echo of ingratitude.” The futile thinking and darkened hearts produce the poisonous echo. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Amos 3:7 — “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.” Hogan cites this — the depopulation-prophecy as long-distance prophetic disclosure. Shared. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Revelation 16 (paraphrase) — Hogan cites this — the depopulation-of-the-earth prophecy as the eschatological form of the threat. Shared. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Movement Two: The Pitying-Doctor Parable
“I act just like a pitying doctor… Will he let these wounds become gangrenous?… No – never! Even though he will feel as if those instruments were applied to himself… I wound in order to heal them, I destroy them in order to resurrect them.”
Jeremiah 30:17 — “For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your” The divine physician-healer — the OT ground for the pitying-doctor parable. The Lord who promises to heal the wounds is the one who applies the knife and fire. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Hosea 6:1–2 — “he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us. On the third day he will raise us up,” The tear-and-heal, strike-and-bind-up — “I wound in order to heal them, I destroy them in order to resurrect them” is the October 25 form of Hosea 6:1–2. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
John 5:19–25 — “the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. … as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.” Hogan cites this — “I destroy them in order to resurrect them.” The Father raises the dead; the Son gives life; the chastisement serves the life-giving power. Shared. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Isaiah 30:26 — “in the day that the LORD binds up the fracture of his people, and heals the wound they were struck with.” The wounds inflicted by the divine blow healed by the divine hand — the same one who strikes is the one who heals. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Ezekiel 18:23 — “Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked?” says the Lord GOD, “and not rather that he should return from his way, and live?” The divine pleasure in life not death — “this is not my Will — it is only the effect of their wickedness and obstinate will.” Confirmed from October 21. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
2 Peter 3:9 — “not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” The divine forbearance — “if many perish, this is not my Will.” Confirmed from October 7 and October 21. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Movement Three: The Sweetening-of-the-Echo Counsel
“The only means is that you always do all your actions with the sole purpose of pleasing Me, and that you employ all your senses and powers for the purpose of loving Me and of glorifying Me. Let your every thought, word, and everything else, want nothing but the love you have for Me.”
John 8:29 — “He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.” Hogan cites this — Jesus’s own self-description: the model for “always do all your actions with the sole purpose of pleasing me.” Shared. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
John 14:31 — “But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let’s go from here.” Hogan cites this — all action out of love, all love expressed in action. Shared. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Deuteronomy 6:4–10 — “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.” Hogan cites this — the Shema as the OT ground for “employ all your senses and powers for the purpose of loving Me.” Shared. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
2 Corinthians 10:5 — “and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” Hogan cites this — “let your every thought” is 2 Corinthians 10:5: every thought captured and given to Christ. Shared. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Matthew 22:37 — “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” The Dominical Great Commandment — the NT form of the Shema. “All your senses and powers for the purpose of loving Me.” Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Colossians 3:17 — “Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” The whatever-you-do-in-the-name-of-the-Lord — the ground for “let your every thought, word, and everything else, want nothing but the love you have for Me.” Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
1 Corinthians 10:31 — “Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” The do-all-to-the-glory-of-God — “employ all your senses and powers for the purpose of loving Me and of glorifying Me.” Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.
Romans 12:1 — “present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.” The living sacrifice — the total-gift-of-self is the October 25 form of Romans 12:1: every action, thought, and word presented to God as spiritual worship. Type: Direct doctrinal parallel.

- Total-and-absolute gift of self — “This is the total and absolute gift of self.” Hogan’s closing formulation.
- Interior battle — “The battle to let the Lord reign is completely an interior battle with us.” Connects the counsel to the September 26 will-identification threshold.
- Eschatological reading — WWI, WWII, and a coming WWIII anticipated. Third mention of the historical-fulfillment pattern in October.
VIP / SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS
Hogan: “This is a VIP message okay — one of the steps along the journey into divine will.” The only explicit VIP designation in the October sequence and one of the few in Volume 2 where Hogan uses the term directly. TRACK as the October 25 seed of the higher-volumes acting-in-the-divine-will theology alongside October 1 (divine-will omnipresence) and October 21 (reparatory prayer in the divine will).
STAGE TWO SYNTHESIS
Seven shared citations. Hogan’s most significant contribution: the explicit VIP elevation and divine-will forward bridge. Stage One provides the cosmic-echo tradition (Psalm 19:1–4, Romans 1:20–21), the wound-and-heal tradition (Jeremiah 30:17, Hosea 6:1–2, Isaiah 30:26), and the total-action tradition (Colossians 3:17, 1 Corinthians 10:31).
CROSS-ENTRY SYNTHESIS
The Sweetening-of-the-Echo Counsel: The Volume’s Most Direct Statement of the Total-Gift-of-Self and the Acting-in-the-Divine-Will Seed
The October 25 counsel is the most comprehensive statement of the total-gift-of-self vocation in Volume 2, and Hogan explicitly names it as “one of the steps along the journey into divine will.” Its components: every action (sole purpose of pleasing — John 8:29), every sense and power (loving and glorifying — Deuteronomy 6:4–10), every thought (captured for Christ — 2 Corinthians 10:5), every word and deed (in the name of the Lord — Colossians 3:17), everything (to the glory of God — 1 Corinthians 10:31). TRACK actively as the third divine-will seed in October, alongside October 1 (omnipresence) and October 21 (reparatory prayer in the divine will).
The Echo-Image and October 24’s Man-as-Particle-of-Divine-Food
October 24 (ontological): the creature is a particle of divine love-food; the lost creature becomes bitter. October 25 (acoustic): the divine love is a cosmic echo; the creature’s ingratitude is a poisonous counter-echo. Two registers of the same truth: the creature’s entire being is constituted by divine love and is called to resonate with it. The poisonous echo is the bitterified particle become sound.
The Pitying-Doctor and the October 7 King-and-Filthy-House: The October Parabolic Pair
October 7: the king who cannot enter the filthy house; chastisement as preparation for divine entry. October 25: the doctor who cuts and burns so corruption does not advance; chastisement as medical intervention. Together: preparation for entry (October 7) + intervention against corruption (October 25). Both are acts of love; neither is punitive hardness.
Entry Conclusion
Dominant biblical imagination: The cosmic-echo tradition (Psalm 19:1–4, Romans 1:20–21) for Movement One; the wound-and-heal tradition (Jeremiah 30:17, Hosea 6:1–2, John 5:19–25) for Movement Two; the total-action / Shema tradition (Deuteronomy 6:4–10, Matthew 22:37, John 8:29, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Colossians 3:17, 1 Corinthians 10:31) for Movement Three.
Most load-bearing scriptural traditions: Psalm 19:1–4 / Romans 1:20–21 for the echo-image; Hosea 6:1–2 / John 5:19–25 for the wound-and-heal parable; Deuteronomy 6:4–10 / John 8:29 / 2 Corinthians 10:5 / Colossians 3:17 for the total-action counsel.
Three findings of highest theological significance:
-
The sweetening-of-the-echo counsel is the volume’s most direct statement of the total-gift-of-self vocation and an explicit seed of the higher volumes’ acting-in-the-divine-will theology. Hogan: “This is a VIP message — one of the steps along the journey into divine will.” TRACK actively alongside October 1 (omnipresence) and October 21 (reparatory prayer in the divine will).
-
The pitying-doctor parable completes the October parabolic pair with the king-and-filthy-house (October 7). Preparation for divine entry + medical intervention against corruption = two complementary images of the same love-driven chastisement.
-
The echo-image extends October 24’s man-as-particle-of-divine-food into acoustic terms. Ontological (particle) and acoustic (echo): two registers of the creature’s constitution by divine love and call to resonate with it.

Hogan Commentary Summary
Four and a half minutes. Commentary follows all three movements with a moderate citation density. Explicitly marks the sweetening-of-the-echo counsel as a VIP message.
On the depopulation prophecy: Cites Amos 3:7 — “this is a long-distance prophecy.” Notes: “It has been partially fulfilled in World War One and World War Two, but there is a World War Three on the way.” Cites Revelation 16 for the depopulation of the earth.
On the pitying-doctor parable: “The chastisements try to stop this poison from getting any worse.” Notes that the same tragedy may produce repentance in one and hardness in another. Cites John 5:19–25 — “I destroy them in order to resurrect them.”
On the sweetening-of-the-echo counsel: Explicit VIP elevation: “This is a VIP message — one of the steps along the journey into divine will that all our actions are done only and absolutely to please Jesus, we do it for love of him — that’s the highest thing.” Cites John 8:29 — “I always do the things that are pleasing to him.” Cites John 14:31 — “I do as the Father has commanded me.” Cites Deuteronomy 6:4–10 — the Shema. Cites 2 Corinthians 10:5 — “every thought must be captured and given to Christ.” Notes: “The battle to let the Lord reign is completely an interior battle with us.” Closing formulation: “This is the total and absolute gift of self.”

Theological Arc
Three movements.
Movement One (the echo): The divine love resounds like an echo in the celestial regions, fills the atmosphere, diffuses over the whole earth (Psalm 19:1–4, Romans 1:20). The creatures respond with a poisonous echo of ingratitude, bitterness, and sins (Romans 1:21). The divine threat: “I will depopulate the face of the earth so that this echo resounding with poison may not deafen my ears.” Hogan: long-distance prophecy (Amos 3:7), partially fulfilled in WWI and WWII, WWIII anticipated (Revelation 16).
Movement Two (the pitying-doctor parable): Jesus explains the chastisements through a medical image: the doctor who loves his children more than his own life, who cuts and applies fire so the wounds do not become gangrenous. He will feel as if the instruments are applied to himself — yet he must do it. “I wound in order to heal them, I destroy them in order to resurrect them.” John 5:19–25 (the Son gives life), Hosea 6:1–2 (tear-and-heal), Jeremiah 30:17 (the divine physician). The divine will is healing, not death (Ezekiel 18:23, 2 Peter 3:9). Second parable of October alongside the king-and-filthy-house (October 7): preparation for divine entry + medical intervention against corruption.
Movement Three (the sweetening-of-the-echo counsel — VIP): Luisa asks how she can sweeten the poisonous echo. Jesus’s answer: do all your actions with the sole purpose of pleasing me; employ all your senses and powers for loving and glorifying me; let every thought, word, and deed want nothing but love for me. John 8:29 (Jesus’s own practice), John 14:31 (doing out of love), Deuteronomy 6:4–10 / Matthew 22:37 (the Shema), 2 Corinthians 10:5 (every thought captured), Colossians 3:17 / 1 Corinthians 10:31 (everything to the glory of God), Romans 12:1 (living sacrifice). Hogan: “VIP message — one of the steps along the journey into divine will.” TRACK actively as the third divine-will seed in October.
Volume-level significance: October 25 provides the volume’s most direct statement of the total-gift-of-self vocation, Hogan’s explicit VIP designation as a divine-will seed, the second October parable (completing the pitying-doctor / king-and-filthy-house pair), and the acoustic extension of October 24’s ontological man-as-particle-of-divine-food teaching. The sweetening-of-the-echo counsel is the Volume 2 statement of what the higher volumes will develop as the systematic practice of acting in the divine will.
Observation Notes

02-1899-10-25
The divine-will seed cluster in October is now three items: October 1 (omnipresence of the divine will in all creatures), October 21 (reparatory prayer made in the divine will), October 25 (all actions done with the sole purpose of pleasing — acting in the divine will). All three were introduced by Hogan rather than being present in the diary text itself, and all three are explicitly flagged as bridges to the higher volumes. The transition prompt should consolidate these as a grouped tracking item: “Three divine-will seeds introduced by Hogan in October 1899, none yet present in the Volume 2 text itself.”
